Arkansas vs. Georgia

Arkansas
15 Ryan Mallett QB
45 D.J. Williams TE
65 Demarcus Love T

Georgia
42 Justin Houston OLB

Demarcus Love

1st – 14:34 – Out of control … has a narrow base and gets forced off balance

1st – 14:11 – Poor footwork and crosses over feet … no kick step here

1st – 12:36 – Bends at waist way too much

1st – 7:45 – Doesn’t keep feet under body … bends at waist and gets off balance here when blocking 3-tech

1st – 7:12 – Raw footwork

1st – 5:50 – Takes a couple falst steps … feet are very raw again … doesn’t understand angle … narrow base

1st – 5:17 – Tries to use all hands and size … feet get out from underneath him and gets off balance … shows athleticism to readjust …

1st – 4:33 – Bends at waist and beat to outside … footwork is terrible … very raw

Very raw still in 2nd qtr

2nd – 0:21 – Gets beat inside

3rd – 14:50 – Shows a lot of strength on hand slap … uncomfortable in space … lacks balance … not smooth … bends at waist and falls on drive block in 2nd level

3rd – 2:39 – Lacks quickness … gets completely beat … slow out of stance … takes a false step … gets saved by RB blocking

Love is on the ground a lot … really bad sign for an OL prospect

4th – 10:20 – Overanticipates and gets beat inside

Justin Houston

1st – 14:11 – Gets a very nice jump on the football here …

3rd – 2:39 – Elite first step … very quick off the ball … athletic

Ryan Mallett

1st – 14:11 – Dangeous pass across body/across field over the middle but complete

1st – 12:36 – Blown coverage by #31 for Georgia … all 11 players in box … routine touchdown pass – too easy

1st – 7:11 – Reads blitz and checks down effectively

1st – 1:06 – Nice touch pass on go route … reads 1v1 coverage with size advantage … Receiver makes a very nice catch. Intelligent throw with good loft and good timing by Mallett

2nd – 15:00 – Poor job of selling PA toss … wide open throw to TE over middle with no pressure.

2nd – 0:46 – Clean pocket … Ball is a little high but receiver goes up and makes a nice play … solid throw.

2nd – 0:38 – Ball is behind WR … should have been a Pick-6 … Mallett never even read the free safety who had a break on the ball … poor field vision here

2nd – 0:26 0 Smart decision to kill ball on busted screen

2nd – 0:21 – Incomplete pass … not even close

The vast majority of Mallett’s completion are underneath drag routes with receivers that are wide open on mismatches … I’m just not impressed with the level of difficulty in this offense at times.

3rd – 8:58 – Overthrew wide open WR that would have been for a big gain

3rd – 8:08 – Ball is too high, behind WR on quick out

3rd – 2:07 – Ball delivered too late … LB jumps on it for pass breakup … ball should have been out before receiver broke on route

3rd – 0:17 – Touchdown pass to wide open receiver … I’m not impressed with this pass. Great play call by Petrino

4th – 10:20 – (3rd and 3) Horrible pass on screen … receiver was open with space and throws it at his feet

4th – 5:52 – Receiver goes up and makes a play for Mallett … nice touch and timing again on go route to sideline, but Jake Locker doesn’t have a receiver that can go up and get the football like this.

4th – 5:45 – Ball comes out late … too high … receiver was wide open … Mallett gets very anxious with pressure and usually has a clean pocket to throw in

D.J. Williams

1st – 13:33 – Shows some physicality as an in-line blocker here, but small and doesn’t have much strength

1st – 7:07 – Good job hanging onto football after hit

3rd – 2:39 – Drops very catchable pass in space
