Prospect Summary:
The Alabama Crimson Tide sent a steady streak of playmaking receivers to the NFL under former head coach Nick Saban, and Bond looked like he would continue that trend early in his college career. As a freshman, Bond (17-220-1) flashed some ability and showed improvement as a sophomore when he caught 48 passes for 668 yards and four touchdowns. Saban retired after that season, and Bond transferred to Texas to play in the Longhorns aerial offense. In 2024, Bond dealt with some injuries and totaled 34 receptions for 540 yards and four touchdowns. He had four carries for 98 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
For the NFL, Bond is a deep-threat receiver as he is extremely fast and is a threat to score or produce a long gain on any play. Bond is explosive off the line of scrimmage and shows twitchy moves out of his break to create separation from defensive backs. Bond is a threat to beat coverage deep using his speed on verticals, and his quickness out of the break makes him a dangerous route runner to get open. Bond tracks the ball well and has the concentration to lock in receptions, even with defenders bearing down on him, with the potential to deliver huge hits. With his explosive speed, Bond looks to get vertical and can race away from the defense, as he is not a great run-after-the-catch receiver in terms of elusiveness and open-field moves to dodge tacklers. As a pro, Bond will be a weapon as a speed receiver, but he has some limitations, being undersized, short, and lacking weight.
Bond is small with a slim build and could have issues staying healthy in the NFL. He can get pushed around by bigger defensive backs and struggles to get off jams. Bond had only 99 catches in college with a lack of big plays, so there is some concern that Bond can only flash potential but never produces consistently.
In the 2025 NFL Draft, a few team sources believe that Bond could go late in the first round of the first round and will get selected in the second round if he slips to Friday night of the draft.
Prospect Comparison:
Hollywood Brown. In terms of style of play, Bond reminds me of Brown coming out of Oklahoma. I could see Bond being a similar caliber player in the NFL.
