2013 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Alex Len
Position: Center
Size: 7-1, 225
School: Maryland, Sophomore
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: Len didn’t do anything to wow me during his time with the Terrapins, but because of size and skill level for a 20-year old seven-footer, scouts are intrigued by his potential. I don’t see Len being near ready to contribute right away, but because the 2013 NBA Draft is rather weak, he will be a top-10 pick with a chance to be one of the first five names called.
Player Comparison: Spencer Hawes. Each listed at 7-1, Hawes and Len are more finesse big men rather than really physically imposing down low. Hawes has a solid face-up game, and Len has shown glimpses of possessing that as well. Neither of the two is very aggressive on the boards, and how Len develops will determine whether is he a mediocre career center or has the potential to be a true starter at the next level.
