2024 NBA Mock Draft: Round One – Picks 16-30

Philadelphia 76ers: Stephon Castle, SG, Connecticut

The young guy from the National Champs is a monster athlete who defends and is a scorer and playmaker from the two. The 76ers need added talent and Castle is a huge steal. The 6-foot-5 guard could become a big part of the team.

Los Angeles Lakers: Jared McCain, G, Duke

Jared McCain is just 6-foot-3 and is in zero way a point guard, meaning he’s an NBA sixth man. McCain is one of the biggest scoring talents in this draft though and has an excellent jump shot. He would give the Lakers a potential star reserve.

Orlando Magic: Tidjane Salaun, PF, France

The very tall Frenchmen has the potential to be a star, but he is raw. Salaun is 6-foot-11 and long, which helps his shot-blocking talent to go with his smooth jumper.

Toronto Raptors: Kel’el Ware, C, Indiana

Jakob Poeltl is their one center and he isn’t an age fit for the Raptors. Kel’el Ware can be a starting center in this league, but may need some time, so the fit’s very strong for him. His ability to block shots and shoot the ball makes him special.

Cleveland Cavaliers: Kyshawn George, SG, Miami

A former one, George grew to 6-foot-9 and is a versatile piece who could be special if he develops. He could become a starter for the Cavs as he is an ace shooter and a perfect supporting player.

New Orleans Pelicans: Kevin McCullar, SG, Kansas

The Pelicans will probably trade Brandon Ingram and will need another guy on the perimeter and McCullar is a versatile talent who can help as a rookie. He’s a strong playmaker and scorer who was a college superstar.

Phoenix Suns: Devin Carter, G, Providence

Carter is a lot like McCain as a smallish combo guard who can really score the ball. The Suns need a true point guard, but Carter’s talents also fits well off the bench. Tyler Kolek would be another excellent pick.

Milwaukee Bucks: Juan Nunez, G, Spain

The Bucks aren’t afraid to take chances on foreign talent and Nunez isn’t perfect, but he has elite playmaking ability and he would give the offense another element. He’s a risk, but the Bucks need superior reserves and Nunez can be that for them in a hige way.

New York Knicks: Yves Missi, C, Baylor

The Knicks need to start developing a young five. Isaiah Hartenstein and Mitchell Robinson are solid, but Missi a big time reboudner and shot-blocker who is an efficient scorer. He’s a classic big and that fits this physical Knicks team

New York Knicks: Tyler Kolek, PG, Marquette

Kolek is a true point guard at 6-foot-3, but also has strong scoring talent, meaning he can be a starter for 10 or so teams, but he will likely be a big time reserve. He can play with Jalen Brunson and run the second unit.

Washington Wizards: Terrence Shannon, SG, Illinois

Shannon is a 6-foot-6 mega scorer who is one of the purest scorers in the draft. A scorer of his caliber off the bench could make a difference for the Wizards.

Minnesota Timberwolves: Johnny Furphy, F, Kansas

Furphy really made his name known in the second half of his freshman season. He has 6-foot-9 size and is a strong athlete, but he might take some time. Minnesota as a contender can afford to wait.

Denver Nuggets: Carlton Carrington, G, Pittsburgh

The Nuggets desperately need bench help and the 6-foot-4 Carrington has the look of an NBA sixth man, but needs to work on his jumper. Regardless, he is quite an excellent offensive talent.

Utah Jazz: Alex Karaban, F, Connecticut

The Jazz have more talent than they could use, so taking a proven winner and elite shooter as a plus rile player is wise.

Boston Celtics: Izan Almansa, Spain

The Celtics need some pieces, but they can afford to take a chance on a prospect like Almansa who is raw, but huge and has massive talent to go with it. They also need a sixth man and could select a scoring guard.
