Orlando Franklin, G/OT, Broncos. Age: 27.
Signed with Chargers (5 years, $36.5 million; $20 million guaranteed)

Orlando Franklin’s transition from right tackle to left guard was a successful one; though he was heavily penalized, he surrendered just one sack and blasted open huge running lanes for C.J. Anderson. Franklin’s versatility will help him on the open market.
Evan Mathis, G, Eagles. Age: 33.
Evan Mathis is one of the top guards in the NFL, and he’d be a five-star free agent if he were a few years younger. The only concern with him is that he’ll turn 34 in the middle of the 2015 campaign, but he still has a couple of dominant seasons left in the tank. Philadelphia’s decision to release him is embarrassing.
Mike Iupati, G, 49ers. Age: 28.
Signed with Cardinals (5 years, $40 million)

Mike Iupati has never been great in pass protection, but he has been one of the league’s top run-blockers over the past several seasons.
Clint Boling, G, Bengals. Age: 26.
Re-signed with Bengals (5 years, $26 million)

Clint Boling showed no signs of the torn ACL he sustained last year. He had a strong 2014 campaign, especially as a run-blocker, blasting open huge holes for Jeremy Hill.
Justin Blalock, G, Falcons. Age: 31.
Announced retirement

Justin Blalock played very well last year in all regards, but he was released because he was deemed a poor fit in the new blocking scheme. Blalock turned 31 in December, but he can still be a solid starter for a couple more seasons.
Richie Incognito, G, Dolphins. Age: 32.
Signed with Bills

Lost in all of Bullygate was that Richie Incognito was a pretty solid guard. Skilled at both pass protection and run blocking, Incognito was actually having a quality season before getting kicked off the team. He’ll be 32 in the summer, but as long as he stops pretending like he’s a member of Cobra Kai, he can be a quality starter for some team.
James Carpenter, G, Seahawks. Age: 26.
Signed with Jets

James Carpenter has always had problems with conditioning and injuries throughout his career. He played well early in 2014, but had some issues toward the end because of an ankle injury.
Rob Sims, G, Lions. Age: 31.
Rob Sims struggled for most of the season, though he was better down the stretch. Still, the Lions will probably want to upgrade him.
Todd Herremans, G, Eagles. Age: 32.
Signed with Colts (1 year, $3.5 million)

Todd Herremans used to be a solid starting guard for the Eagles, but he has regressed the past two seasons. He was still a strong run-blocker in 2013, but he completely fell off this past season prior to tearing his biceps. Herremans was slated to earn $4 million in 2015, so cutting him was a no-brainer.
