Devin Bush, LB, Michigan
Devin Bush was trending on Twitter for a while, and for good reason. He dominated the combine. He ran a 4.43 40, then notched a 10-foot-4 broad jump, a 40.5-inch vertical and a 6.93 3-cone time. He was also terrific in the drills. Bush solidified his first-round status with this performance, and he could now be chosen in the top 20.
Ben Burr-Kirven, LB, Washington
Ben Burr-Kirven performed very well in the drills, finishing off what was an excellent day. Burr-Kirven ran a 4.56 40 and posted a 6.85 3-cone time. His 10-foot-1 broad jump and 34.5-inch vertical were solid as well.
Blake Cashman, LB, Minnesota
Blake Cashman posted some excellent numbers at the combine. He ran a stellar 4.50 40 at 6-1, 237. He then notched a 10-foot-4 broad jump, a 37.5-inch vertical and a 6.95 3-cone time. Cashman was highly productive at Minnesota, but there was some concern about his athleticism. Cashman answered questions, so he provided a huge boost to his draft stock.
Justin Hollins, LB, Oregon
Justin Hollins was one of the top performers in the drills Sunday. This was part of his stellar day. Hollins began by running a 4.50, which is great for a 248-pound linebacker. He also hit a 36.5-inch vertical and a 7.06 3-cone time.
Cameron Smith, LB, USC
Cameron Smith posted some nice jumping numbers – 10-3 broad jump, 39-inch vertical – but his 4.69 40 was mediocre, and he wasn’t very good in the drills, looking a bit slow at times. There’s concern about Smith’s ability to cover in the pros, and he didn’t answer those questions in Indianapolis.
Drue Tranquill, LB, Notre Dame
Drue Tranquill is a smart linebacker who was very productive at Notre Dame. There was concern about his athleticism, but he did well to answer those at the combine. Tranquill ran a 4.57 40 and posted one of the top 3-cone times at 6.94. He also notched a 37.5-inch vertical. Tranquill certainly improved his draft stock this weekend.
Devin White, LB, LSU
Devin White was in tears after his first 40-yard dash. That’s because he sprinted a 4.42. White, who also had a 39.5-inch vertical and a 7.07 3-cone time, cemented his top-10 status with his awesome showing at the combine.
