Teams See Secound-Round Potential for Odeyingbo

Vanderbilt has produced some good NFL talent in recent years, but not much attention has been paid to the Commodores this season given their 0-7 record. Even though they have struggled, defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo has impressed NFL scouts. Sources from four different teams said they are grading Odeyingbo in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and one source said they believe Odeyingbo end up as a top-50 pick.
Vanderbilt lists Odeyingbo at 6-foot-6, 276 pounds, and he has good quickness to go with that size. With his size and speed, Odeyingbo projects as a base end in a 4-3 defense, and he could add weight to be a five-technique end in a 3-4. Odeyingbo has showed really improved pass-rushing skills this season, notching 3.5 sacks and 24 tackles thus far.
All four team sources said they had Odeyingbo graded in the second round and if he works out well in the leadup to the 2021 NFL Draft, he could rise. There is always a demand for edge rushers and defenders capable of getting after the quarterback. Despite it being a rough year for Vanderbilt, Odeyingbo has been a bright spot and has really helped himself on the field.
