Bills Aiming to Trade into the 4-7 Range

Thursday evening sources with the Buffalo Bills said that the organization is hoping to trade up from the 12th-overall pick into the 4-7 range. Sources say the price that the New York Giants are asking for the No. 2 overall pick is too steep. Thus, the Bills are focused on getting to the middle of the top 10.
The Bills anticipate they would be moving up for either UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen or Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen, depending on how the signal callers come off the board. Thus the Cleveland Browns (4), Denver Broncos (5), Indianapolis Colts (6), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7) could be in excellent position to move down while gaining a lot of draft picks in the trade.
According to sources, the Bills would be willing to trade the 12th- and 22nd-overall picks in the first round along with a second-round pick in this year’s draft and maybe a third-round pick. Sources say that the Bills are not interested in trading their 2019 first-round pick. They want to hold onto that selection and lean on their plethora of 2018 picks.
In talks with the Giants, the Bills felt that New York’s price was too high. Buffalo thought that New York was likely to take a quarterback with the second-overall pick even though the media rumors have the Giants taking Penn State running back Saquon Barkley. League contacts thought New York wouldn’t turn down a huge package of picks in order to take a running back. They felt that the Giants wanted such a huge price because it would cost them a quarterback. That was their belief, but they did not know whom New York general manager Dave Gettleman was hoping to take in the first round.
In the middle of the top 10, don’t be surprised if suddenly the Buffalo Bills are on the clock after moving up with the Browns, Broncos, Colts or Buccaneers.
