    By Charlie Campbell

Career Recap: Moses was a highly sought after recruit coming out of high school and one of the top players in the nation. As a freshman, he was a backup who rotated into the game. totaling 30 tackles with 5.5 for a loss and 1.5 sacks. With Rashaan Evans moving on to the NFL, Moses won a starting spot for 2018 and broke out for the Crimson Tide, recording 86 tackles, 10 for a loss, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one pass batted. Alabama played Moses at inside and outside linebacker last season.

2019 Season Outlook: As one could expect, Moses will see some good talent in SEC play during the 2019 season. The first good test will come in late September against Ole Miss Rebels running back Scottie Phillips, who could be a second-day prospect for the 2020 NFL Draft. In November, Moses will see more backfield talent against LSU and Auburn, plus Mississippi State’s Kylin Hill is anothera Day 2 prospect for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Skill-Set Summary: Alabama has been a factory for linebacker talent under Nick Saban, including some recent first-rounders like C.J. Mosley, Reuben Foster and Rashaan Evans. Moses has the potential to keep that tradition alive for the 2020 NFL Draft as he has a dynamic skill set with size, speed and athleticism.

Moses’ skill set what jumps out. He is a big, fast, athletic heat-seeking missile flying around the field. With his explosive first-step and ridiculous closing speed, Moses is is an extremely fast linebacker who can cover sideline-to-sideline. He has the speed to run with receiving targets in the middle of the field and will hunt down ball-carriers. Moses has good size, but the things that make him rare are his explosiveness and being shockingly fast.

The speed and athleticism make him a potential three-down defender for the NFL with rare pass-coverage skills. Moses shows the speed and athleticism to pick up receivers in zone and keep close coverage on them in the middle of the field. With his skill set, he could develop into a linebacker who possesses man-coverage skills on tight ends and running backs. Moses has the speed and agility to run with backs out of the backfield or tight ends down the seam. He covers a lot of ground in zone coverage, using impressive vision to stay keyed into the play. On top of being able to cover, Moses is a dangerous blitzer who explodes into the backfield. He shows a surprising ability to fight off blocks from offensive linemen, and his natural size and strength help him in this regard. With some development, Moses could end up being a special linebacker in pass coverage.

As a run defender, Moses is a seek-and-destroy linebacker. He flies sideline-to-sideline and covers a lot of ground. Moses is dynamic to defend the flat and also explode into the offense to blow runs up at the point of attack. Moses shows nice vision and an ability to work through trash to make stops. He is a hard hitter and often dishes out some violent blows on ball-carriers. There are times when Moses is a punishing defender and sets a very physical tone for his defense. Like all college linebackers, Moses could work on taking on and shedding blocks, but he shows promise on that front. Moses should be an asset in run defense as a pro.

In the NFL, Moses could be a great fit in a 3-4 defense playing mostly inside linebacker, but he also has the ability to move to outside linebacker. With his pass-rushing and blitzing skills, he could be a versatile chess piece for a pro defensive coordinator. Moses also would fit a 4-3 defense, and he could play any linebacker position in that scheme. In some ways, Moses looks like a bigger Lavonte David as they both are extremely fast and physical with rare pass-coverage ability and run-defense skills to rack up a lot of tackles.

2020 NFL Draft Expectations: Moses has early-round potential for the 2020 NFL Draft and could be one of the top linebacker prospects.
