In the recent weeks, there have been a lot of questions about which players to avoid in the 2020 NFL Draft class. Every draft has some players who are selected high only to becoming massive disappointments in the NFL. Here, we break down some potential offensive busts in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Terrell Lewis, DE, Alabama
This was a tough decision. I chose Lewis because of injury and durability concerns. Lewis has a first-round skill set of size, length, speed and strength, but he has had a ton of injuries already and I’m not confident he can stay healthy in the NFL. Even this year at the Senior Bowl, it looked at times like he was dragging the leg that cost him the 2018 season. If he stays healthy and heals up, he has the potential to be a good pro, but I think he could be the riskiest pick of the early-round defensive end prospects.

Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
My top candidates for this were Diggs and LSU’s Kristian Fulton. I ultimately went with Diggs because I think he could end up being forced on the field and he still needs development. That’s understandable given his injury history and having played some wide receiver early on at Alabama. Diggs has above-average instincts but is not natural. He’s late getting his head around to track the ball in flight and bites on double moves. Diggs is also a bit straight line and is not a super twitchy athlete. Some team sources feel Diggs folds when things get tough, and they have concerns about his mental toughness. Thus, Diggs could use some developmental time in the NFL, but he might not be awarded that given his draft position. Of the early-round cornerback prospects, I think Diggs might be the most risky,

Ashtyn Davis, S, California
Davis has received some early-round projections, and I think he has bust potential. Here’s how one source summarized him:

“I graded him in the fourth [round] but might move him up to the third. He’s not strong, not physical, and misses a ton of tackles. It looks like he doesn’t have the heart to tackle. On tape, some of the lack of physicality was utterly criminal. He is athletic, but doesn’t make a ton of plays in coverage and is not a rangy instinctive centerfielder. In the NFL ,he going to get run over and run off the map.”

I think Davis might stick in the NFL as a backup safety who contributes on special teams, but he is undersized and I think his tackling is going to be a big problem. Hence, I think he has real bust potential.
