Prospect Summary:

Green started out his collegiate career at Virginia and had some off-the-field issues that played a role in his transferring to Marshall. In 2023, Green had 43 tackles with 4.5 sacks and one forced fumble in his debut with the Thundering Herd. In 2024, Green had 17 sacks with three forced fumbles, 81 tackles, and two passes batted.

Green could stand to improve as a run defender as he can get covered up sometimes by offensive tackles. NFL offensive tackles are going to outweigh him by 50-80 pounds, so Green could have problems holding up as a three-down edge defender going against pro tackles. That is not surprising considering his lack of height, length, and weight. As a pro, he could get rotated out a fair amount in running situations, and he might end up being a designated pass rusher only.

As a pass rusher, Green has the speed and strength to be a challenge for offensive tackles. As a pass rusher, Green can burn tackles with a speed rush and also can to fight them off with his hands. After his quick first step to get upfield, Green uses his hands and feet at the same time nicely with agility to redirect to the inside or sink his hips while running the loop on the outside. Green has a dangerous speed cut to the inside and a lightning spin move to fire past tackles. Green has excellent closing speed to eat up space in a blur. As a pro, Green has the potential to be a dangerous speed rusher.

While Green is fast around the corner, he lacks some strength and is not a power rusher. NFL tackles that are capable of handling Green’s speed could shut him down, and not having the change-up of being a power rusher is a significant limitation. That could make Green’s pass-rush production go through some peaks and valleys, depending on the team he’s playing. He might have a big season, followed by some down years. Some team sources feel Green’s limitations make him the kind of player that could struggle with consistency.

Green has some character and off-the-field concerns. That being said, team sources did not anticipate it being bad enough to get him dropped off their boards because of his character. In the 2025 NFL Draft, Green has a wide range, according to team sources. They say he could get late first-round consideration, but the majority of team sources believe he will be a second-round pick. Green should not slide out of day two of the draft.

Prospect Comparison:

Arnold Ebiketie. In terms of style of play, Green reminds me of Ebiketie. Ebiketie flashes speed rush but has size limitations and can get covered up in the ground game. Ebiketie was a second-round pick in 2022, and Green could go in round two this year.
