2014 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Aaron Craft
Position: Point Guard
Size: 6-2, 195
School: Ohio State, Senior
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: Craft has been one of the most consistent point guards in college basketball the past few years, a coach’s dream, and most importantly; a winner. With that being said, his abilities are limited when projecting his transition to the next level. He should be a second-round pick due to his defensive toughness and ability to run an offense, but his offensive game does not translate to the next level. Craft will likely be nothing more than a third point guard on an NBA roster.
Player Comparison: Earl Watson. Watson isn’t an explosive athlete or outstanding scorer, but has put together a productive NBA career because he is a solid floor leader who gets others involved and works hard defensively. That will be Craft’s M.O. in the association as well. Watson’s best role has been as a reserve, which is what Craft will have to work to become as well.
