Georgia linebacker Chris Cole has enjoyed an excellent 2026 season and has turned himself into an early-round prospect for the 2027 NFL Draft. Cole has been a thumper in the ground game who has shown some ability to play zone coverage while also being a dangerous pass rusher. Cole had some huge plays to help put down one of Georgia’s biggest rushers.
On the first snap for the Georgia defense, Cole made an excellent tackle on Baugh to limit him to a gain of three, and it was a clutch stop as Baugh had a lane to break off a chunk run if Cole hadn’t made the stop. At the end of the second quarter, Cole scooped up a fumble and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown. In the fourth quarter, Cole showed his speed by running to the sideline to help push a receiver out of bounds short of a first down.
For the NFL, Cole looks like a starting middle linebacker. He is a force in the ground game with excellent tackling ability. Cole has good instincts, is quick to read his keys, and is adept at working through trash to get to the ball. While Cole is not an elite man cover linebacker in pass coverage, he is functional in zone and also is a dangerous blizer. Cole looks like a safe pick to turn into a quality starter in the NFL. He could get selected in the back half of the first round and should not last long if he slips to day two.

Georgia has two good defensive backs for the 2027 NFL Draft in cornerback Ellis Robinson IV and safety K.J. Bolden. Both of them were active against the Gators. In the first quarter, Robinson was in the right spot as the Florida quarterback made a stupid play, heaving a ball underhand into the air, and it was easily intercepted by Robinson. Aside from that play, Robinson was rock solid in man coverage. This tape will help him to be a first-round pick.
At the end of the first quarter, Bolden made an excellent open-field tackle on Florida star running back Jadan Baugh on a third down to force a punt from the Gators. Early in the third quarter, Gators slot receiver Bailey Stockton got open against Bolden playing nickel corner. Stockton ran a slant to get open for a gain of about 17 on a third-and-10. Shortly later, Baugh powered through Bolden to get an additional three yards after contact. Bolden had some nice coverage in zone and got in on other tackles in the ground game. Overall, this tape won’t hurt him or help him significantly.

Baugh looks like a future first-round pick, but this game was frustrating as his offensive line struggled with the Georgia defensive line, and he was unable to get good running lanes. Baugh ran hard, but was stifled. In the third quarter, Baugh started to get some better running lanes, and he showed some impressive power going through a few Bulldogs defenders. Late in the third, Baugh ran a short route and was wide open in the front of the end zone, but the quarterback threw to the back of the end zone for an interception. After a touchdown, the Gators did a direct snap to Baugh, and with a defender draped around his legs, he threw a perfect pass to beat tight coverage for a successful two-point conversion. Baugh totaled 38 yards on 17 carries. Overall, this tape won’t hurt or help Baugh’s draft projection.

Gators wide receiver Eric Singleton had buzz as a potential early-round pick going into the season. As a transfer from Auburn, Singleton was known to be a field stretcher and a fast wideout to stretch defenses vertically. This season, he has not produced the big plays he was expected to produce, and Singleton had two awful drops that hurt his team tremendously in this game. In the first quarter, Singleton was open on a deep slant but had the pass bounce off his hands, and a Georgia defender caught the deflection for an interception. In the third quarter, Singleton was open deep down the field on a third-and-long and let a perfectly thrown pass fall through his hands incomplete. Singleton has terrible hands with a serious lack of focus. Some team sources said that Singleton is so high that he can’t focus. He looks like a Ferrari but plays like a Corolla. Singleton looks closer to an undrafted free agent rather than an early-round pick.
