Alabama 42, LSU 13
-
Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe has been a point-producer this season and had a prolific game against LSU in Baton Rogue. Early in the first quarter Milroe made a nice play to dodge two defenders and roll out before firing a bullet to Ryan Williams for a gain of about 15. To end the drive, Milroe showed his speed as he took a read-option run up the middle and darted behind road-grading guard Tyler Booker before cutting back and exploding down the field with a 39-yard touchdown run. Milroe added another touchdown run late in the second quarter on a quarterback draw.
Midway through the third quarter, Milroe reacted slowly to an all-out blitz and took a bad sack. However, a face mask on the sack extended the drive, and Milroe made them pay with another rushing touchdown from just under 20 yards out. On the opening play of the fourth quarter, Milroe put the game away with a 72-yard touchdown run. Milroe kept the ball on an option and went behind key blocks from the pulling Booker and running back Justice Haynes to let Milroe explode down the field for the score. Milroe finished completing 12-of-18 passes for 109 yards. He ran for 185 yards on 12 carries with four touchdowns on the ground.
This tape will help Milroe’s draft grade. While he did not have a prolific night as a passer, Milroe showed insane running ability with game-breaking speed, vision, and a powerful build. In the NFL, Milroe will be a running threat that could make an offense extremely difficult to defend. As a runner, Milroe has a speed similar to Lamar Jackson’s, but with a stronger build. Jackson is more elusive, with crazy athleticism and a slippery style to dodge defenders. Milroe is more North-South as a runner, but he can also make defenders miss with a one-cut downhill style. Milroe could be one of the most dangerous running quarterbacks in the NFL in the near future.
As a passer, Milroe throws a good deep ball, and he is developing. He needs more work and has a lot to learn with recognizing coverage, and reading the defense. Milroe is a unique talent and looks like a first-round pick if he enters the 2025 NFL Draft.

LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier turned himself into pro prospect this season, but he struggled on the big stage against Alabama. In the second quarter, Nussmeier had poor ball security while being chased by Jihaad Campbell. Campbell slapped the ball out, and Alabama recovered the fumble in LSU territory. In the third quarter, Nussmeier made a few nice plays, buying time and throwing some completions on the run. However, to end the drive, Nussmeier expected a linebacker to follow a receiver on a crossing route, but he stayed in zone to be underneath a crosser in the back of the end zone. Alabama’s Deonte Lawson made a leaping grab for an interception to kill a promising Tigers drive. Nussmeier completed 27-of-42 passes for 239 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. This performance won’t help Nussmeier’s draft grade, and he might be better off returning to LSU next year to continue to improve and gain experience before going to the NFL.

This game had three potential early-round offensive line prospects: LSU left tackle Will Campbell, right tackle Emery Jones Jr., and Alabama guard Tyler Booker. Booker was the most impressive of the trio, although they all played well. In the first quarter, Booker had a fantastic play where he pushed a defensive tackle back about five yards to create a huge hole and then a cutback lane for Milroe to take off on a 39-yard touchdown run. Booker is a powerful run blocker and a people mover at the point of attack. This tape will help Booker to be a late first-round pick next April, even though he plays a position that gets devalued.
Early in the second quarter, Campbell was called for a hold on a perimeter run. It was a questionable call, but it went against Campbell. Campbell did a good job in pass protection, showing quickness and agility on the edge. In the third quarter, Campbell pushed a linebacker deep upfield, but Garrett Nussmeier retreated and ran into Campbell’s defender because of interior pressure. It will go down as a sack given up for Campbell, but it was not a horrible play on his part. Overall, this tape won’t hurt or help him significantly.
Jones needed a bounce-back performance after an ugly outing taking on Texas A&M. He was dependable in pass protection and was not giving up pressures or hits. This tape will help his draft grade.
Ole Miss 28, Georgia 10

Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is a potential mid-round prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft, and Georgia was one of the top defenses that Dart would see this season. On the first possession, Dart looked like a deer in headlights. He struggled to read the field on the first play, took a sack on second down, and then threw a terrible pass when pressured on third down. He sailed the ball in the middle of the field, and it was an easy interception for a Georgia safety. After that series, Dart went into the locker room but came back and played the rest of the game on a gimpy leg.
Dart shook off the slow start and began shredding the Georgia defense. He was playing poised in the pocket and finding wide-open receivers in zone coverage. He led the Rebels to 16 points and a halftime lead. In the third quarter, Dart threw an excellent pass with a strike down the seam in the end zone. It was a perfectly placed pass where only his receiver could make the catch. In the fourth quarter, Dart took off on a huge 28-yard run that moved the ball well into the red zone. Dart completed 13-of-22 passes for 199 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
For the NFL, Dart looks like a Gardner Minshew-caliber quarterback. Dart is tough, competitive, and has good instincts. He reads the field well, and he can hurt a defense from the pocket when they let him get comfortable. However, Dart lacks some pocket presence, and he can be reckless with the ball. Dart may not have a first-round skill set, but he could become a quality No. 2 quarterback as a pro.

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck has really struggled in SEC play this season, with some horrible games, throwing a plethora of interceptions. Beck’s turnovers led to the Bulldogs’ loss to Alabama, and Beck threw three interceptions a week ago against Florida. With Beck struggling, he seemed to be playing not to lose the game for his team in the early going. In the first half, Beck played carefully, protecting the football and not throwing into tight windows. He utilized his check down and went downfield only when his receiver had clear separation. However, the wheels came off in the second half and Beck’s turnover issues killed any hopes for Georgia to make a comeback.
In the fourth quarter, Beck had poor ball security while being sacked and fumbled the ball. He was fortunately Ole Miss did not recover the loose ball. Later on the same drive, the luck ran out. Beck held the ball a bit long, and with the rush bearing down on him, he threw behind his receiver for an easy interception. The next Bulldogs possession saw Beck fumble the ball away again as he lost it from a blind-side strip sack. Beck held the ball too long on the play. The next drive saw Beck fumble the ball again on a sack. Beck finished completing 20-of-31 passes for 186 yards with an interception.
Beck should return to Georgia next season. He has a powerful arm and can shred a defense with a clean pocket. However, Beck can get rattled, leading to him making bad decisions. Beck has inconsistent accuracy and has thrown way too many bad interceptions this season. He struggles against the pass rush, leading to him being reckless with the ball, and his fumbles against Ole Miss reinforced that concern. If Beck enters the draft, he could be a mid-rounder with the potential to become a starter, given his powerful arm and size. However, Beck should return to school and improve in 2025 before entering the 2026 NFL Draft.

There was the potential of a good draft matchup with Georgia left tackle Earnest Greene taking on Ole Miss defensive end Princely Umanmielen. The Rebels rotated Umanmielen, but he came through with a clutch play to help keep a Georgia drive from producing points. In the second quarter, Umanmielen burned Georgia left tackle Earnest Greene with a speed rush around the corner to get a sack of Beck. Early in the fourth quarter, Umanmielen stood up over a backup left tackle and beat him with a spin move back to the inside to get a strip-sack of Beck. Unfortunately for Ole Miss, a facemask took the sack fumble away from the Rebels. One play later, Greene was back in the game, but an undersized edge rusher ran around Greene and tight end Oscar Delp to get a sack of Beck. To put the game with less than four minutes remaining, Umanmielen burned Greene with a speed rush and strip-sacked Beck with Ole Miss recovering the loose ball.
This tape is going to hurt Greene’s draft grade. He was beaten for multiple sacks, and Greene looked overwhelmed with the speed of the Rebels defensive line. Greene also struggled to hit some blocks in space on perimeter runs and screens. This tape made Greene look more like a day-two guard candidate rather than a first-round offensive tackle for the NFL.
Overall, this tape is going really help Umanmielen as he had three sacks and two forced fumbles. He had his way with the Georgia offensive tackles showing excellent speed off the edge. He had the functional strength to slap away blocks and won rushes with a variety of pass-rushing moves. Plenty of teams will be picking in the back half of the first round that need pass-rush help, and Umanmielen could get that kind of consideration. This tape will help Umanmielen be an early-round pick next April.

Georgia guard Tate Ratledge has been out for many games with an injury, but he returned to the starting lineup in this game. The Bulldogs offense looked better with Ratledge’s backup, Micah Morris, on the field. Ratledge gave more proof of that against Ole Miss. Twice in the first half, Ratledge was beaten for sacks as his block was shed, and then the tackles burst down the pocket to take down Beck. To open the third quarter, Georgia replaced Ratledge with Morris, and Morris was doing a better job of blocking the Rebel defensive linemen.
For the NFL, Ratledge looks more like a mid-round backup than a starter. While he is big, he is stiff and struggles with quick-twitch interior defensive linemen. Ratledge is also prone to play high, which makes him susceptible to defenders getting under his pads. While some were projecting Ratledge to be an early-round pick, he looks more like a day-three prospect.
Texas 49, Florida 17

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers had a hot start to the season, missed time with an injury, struggled against Georgia, and now is trying to get back on track to lead the Longhorns into the playoffs. While Florida is not a good team, their young defense played much better over the last month and intercepted Georgia quarterback Carson Beck three times last week when the Gators played the Bulldogs much tougher than expected. Ewers showed he is a much better pro prospect than Beck as Ewers shredded Florida compared to Beck’s struggles.
In the first quarter, Ewers lofted in two touchdowns to wide-open receivers as the Gators had blown coverage on both plays, leaving those Longhorns receivers completely uncovered. In the second quarter, Ewers continued to put up easy points when he threw a halfback screen that was taken down the sideline for a 55-yard touchdown. Just before halftime, Ewers found receiver Matthew Golden running open into the front corner of the end zone, and Ewers lofted in a well-placed pass for a 32-yard touchdown. Texas added more points before emptying the bench. Ewers completed 19-of-27 passes for 333 yards with five touchdowns.
For the NFL, Ewers has starting ability with next-level passing talent. Ewers is an accurate passer that throws a very catchable ball. He has a quick release, throws with anticipation, and does a good job of getting the ball out without holding it too long. Ewers was rattled in the Georgia game, so it will be important for him to show that was an anomaly when he takes on tougher opponents to finish his college career.

Texas defensive tackle/end Alfred Collins played well against Florida. Early in the second quarter, Collins fought off a double team and stuffed a third-and-3 run for only a one-yard gain. Just before halftime, Collins had good awareness to slide into a passing lane and then made a leaping deflection that a teammate intercepted. Collins is a tough run defender who can contribute to the pass rush by creating a push into the pocket. He could be a second-day pick who becomes a solid but unspectacular pro.
-
Texas left tackle Kelvin Banks has had a mixed season, but he cruised over the Gators in this outing. Banks showed impressive athletic ability getting out to the perimeter and hitting blocks on screens and outside runs. While Banks is not overly powerful, he is quick, agile, and does a nice job of hitting blocks in space. Some sources feel that Banks (6-4, 320) has a body type that might be better at guard in the NFL.
