Seahawks like Texas OT Kelvin Banks

Last year in the 2024 NFL Draft, it was commonplace to see an offensive lineman projected to the Seattle Seahawks. The line was Seattle’s biggest weakness on the roster in 2023, and they needed upgrades upfront to help them in both phases. However, Seattle went with the best player available and added talent to the defensive line by adding Byron Murphy. The offensive line still could use some help. In our Hot Press entries from the Senior Bowl, we discussed how sources with the Seahawks indicated that Alabama guard Tyler Booker is definitely in play as a candidate for Seattle with the 18th overall pick. In following up with sources, another offensive lineman who is on the Seahawks’ radar is Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks.

Banks played left tackle for Texas, but Seattle has a quality tackle tandem in Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas. Thus, Banks could be moved inside to upgrade the interior of their offensive line. The inside has been a weakness, and Banks could be a plug-and-play upgrade. He is a great scheme fit for Klint Kubiak with his athleticism and movement skills for a zone-rushing attack.

In my latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft, I did not have Banks getting to the Seahawks first-round pick. The Seahawks are keeping their options open, but Banks is in play for them at pick 18.
