  • Summary: Rondale Moore was a freshman sensation for Purdue, and Bell kept that recent tradition going with his debut in 2019, hauling in 86 passes for 1,035 yards and seven touchdowns. In the shortened 2020 season, Bell played well, catching 53 balls for 625 yards and eight touchdowns. The junior had his best season in 2021, putting up 93 receptions for 1,286 yards and six touchdowns.

At the next level, Bell could be a solid contributor No. 2 receiver to a passing attack. He shows quality route-running technique and is a competitive receiver who fights for the football. Bell tracks the ball well, has late hands, and is adept at making catches over defensive backs. He has good size and is able to use his build to shield defenders from the football. After the catch, Bell is a quality runner and is able to add yardage while showing some strength to break tackles. He shows some good body control along the sideline to stay in bounds while reeling in passes with close coverage. He is a gritty, and competitive wideout who has a nose for the end zone.

Bell is more of a secondary receiver for the NFL because he lacks mismatch speed against NFL corners. To go along with not being very fast, Bell is not a twitchy or explosive athlete, so he could have separation issues against pro cornerbacks. The speed and twitch limitations are what make Bell more of a solid No. 2 receiver in the NFL rather than being a featured No. 1.

In the 2022 NFL Draft, Bell probably will end up being a second- or third-round pick. There have been some mock drafts projecting Bell as a first-round pick, but NFL sources from five different teams said they all were grading him later. All five had Bell graded on Day 2, with some having him lower in the mid-rounds. Three of the five teams had Bell as a second- or third-round pick.

Player Comparison: Mohamed Sanu. Bell kind of reminds me of Sanu. Sanu (6-2, 210) and Bell are almost identical in size and have a gritty style of play. After being a second-day pick, Sanu has put together a solid career as a possessional receiver, and Bell could follow suit as a pro
