2014 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Dwight Powell
Position: Power Forward
Size: 6-10, 240
School: Stanford, Senior
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: Powell has always been praised for his athleticism, but his all-around offensive game has yet to truly take form. That raises concern as he was once considered a first-round prospect, but now will likely be selected in the second. His length of strength and toughness around the rim also scares off some scouts.
Player Comparison: Brandan Wright. Long, athletic, and at their best around the rim, Powell could become a Wright-like player at the next level. Wright is a better rebounder, and I am not a huge fan of Powell’s, so don’t think he will ever be as good as Wright, but the two possess a similar game.
