2014 NBA Draft Scouting Report: C.J. Fair
Position: Small Forward
Size: 6-8, 215
School: Syracuse, Senior
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: I’m admittedly a little biased when it comes to Fair since I’ve been a huge fan of his since his freshman year. Still, I truly believe he can be a solid reserve at the next level. Fair mainly projects as a second-round prospect, but the lefty could sneak into the late first round for a team needing a versatile small forward to come off the bench and play an immediate role.
Player Comparison: Ed O’Bannon. A smooth lefty with a nice mid-range game and quality athleticism, there are plenty of similiarities between O’Bannon and Fair. A knee injury hurt O’Bannon’s professional career, but if Fair can do what O’Bannon was unable to and find his niche on the right team, Fair should be a servicebale NBA reserve.
