2014 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Cameron Bairstow
Position: Power Forward
Size: 6-9, 250
School: New Mexico, Senior
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: A breakout senior season has garnered some attention for the Australian. His physicality, energetic play, and ability to knock down mid-range jumpers should earn him some second-round looks since teams are always looking for a hustle-type guy like Bairstow could be at the next level.
Player Comparison: Nick Collison. Collison has been a solid role player since arriving in the NBA thanks to his energy and physicality. I am in no way saying Bairstow will make as big an impact as Collison or have the longevity that the former Jayhawk has seen in the NBA. However, Bairstow could build his niche just like Collison and would be a wise blueprint for him to try and follow.
