2014 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Adreian Payne
Position: Power Forward
Size: 6-10, 245
School: Michigan State, Senior
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: Payne has made steady progress throughout his four years in East Lansing and has been one of the best seniors in college basketball. He may not have the upside of the some of the underclassmen in the 2014 NBA Draf,t but should be a productive pro due to his inside/outside ability. Payne should be selected anywhere from the mid-late first round.
Player Comparison: Markieff Morris. Both Payne and Morris possess a capable low post game, but can also step outside and knock down open shots. Morris is more physical than Payne, but the Spartans senior possesses more explosiveness at the rim. On the right team, Payne could be a valuable reserve post player like Morris has been in Phoenix.
