Obviously, San Antonio’s offseason was about grabbing franchise player Victor Wembanyama, so that’s a win by itself. He is a phenom and will give them at least five wins next season. I also liked keeping starting point guard Tre Jones for more than fair value. The Spurs made few moves, but a huge offseason win.

Spurs’ 2023 NBA Draft – Grade: A+
- No. 1: Victor Wembanyama, F/C, France
- No. 44: Sidy Cissoko, SF, France
I’m very happy that Wembanyama is in the NBA because I cannot wait to see him against NBA talent. As a fan of basketball, it’s a big deal. He’s been on the team a little bit now, and it’s safe to say that he’s already their franchise player. Rookies simply aren’t all-stars in the league, but he legitimately could be one. I’m a huge fan of Victor Wembanyama’s fellow French teammate, Sidy Cissoko, who I had as a first-round talent. He’s a versatile offensive talent who could become a starter if properly developed. The Spurs found their franchise player and have a chance to become contenders for 15 more seasons; he’s that special.
