To differentiate between all the “Start ‘Ems” on Walt’s Fantasy Football Start Em, Sit Em page, you can check out the Weekly Fantasy Football Rankings, so you can figure out whom to start between Player X and Player Y. Below are my fantasy defense rankings and a set of links for my positional Weekly NFL Fantasy Football Rankings. Keep in mind that this list is for this week only; not the entire rest of the season. The rankings are based on a traditional scoring system. Each player has Walterfootball.com’s projected stats and standard scoring points. |

- Baltimore Ravens vs Bills
Nathan Peterman against one of the top pass defenses in the league? Yes, please. - Jacksonville Jaguars at Giants
The Giants’ offense should be much better this season, but Eli Manning is still an aging and mediocre quarterback and the Jaguars are a powerhouse defense. - Los Angeles Rams at Raiders
The Raiders will probably want this game to end before the early-bird special is over, and the Rams have loaded their defense with studs. How well this Wade Phillips-led group meshes early in the season is anyone’s guess, but the talent is there to be dominant and the Raiders look like they are in rebuild mode. - New Orleans Saints vs Bucs
Ryan Fitzpatrick can put up good numbers from time to time, but the Saints have a strong pass defense and Mike Evans was owned by Marshon Lattimore last year. - Los Angeles Chargers vs Chiefs
The Chiefs’ offense is going to be good, but they do have a fairly green quarterback going on the road to take on one of the best pass defenses in the league. - Denver Broncos vs Seahawks
I’ll never bet against Russell Wilson, but heading to Denver, even against a defense that has fallen a couple notches of late, is not an easy task. - Detroit Lions vs Jets
Sam Darnold will throw interceptions, and on Monday night in Detroit, I expect him to have a tough go of it. - Minnesota Vikings vs 49ers
The Vikings didn’t allow any team to score over 19 points against them at home last year and averaged a meager 13.8 points allowed when in Minnesota. - Carolina Panthers vs Cowboys
Dallas has no go-to receivers and will be heading to Carolina to see if Ezekiel Elliott can carry this team on its back. Elliott is going to rack up a lot of fantasy points as long as he’s healthy, but a one-dimensional team will have trouble scoring. - Philadelphia Eagles vs Falcons
The Eagles will look to slow this game down with Nick Foles at quarterback, and that should be good for their D/ST point total. - Tennessee Titans at Dolphins
Ryan Tannehill is mediocre, and the Titans have a strong defensive unit overall. - New England Patriots vs Texans
Deshaun Watson is a dynamic player and can put 40 points up on just about any team, but he’s also going to turn the ball over and give D/STs a chance. - Buffalo Bills at Ravens
The Bills have a strong pass defense and weak run defense. I expect Alex Collins to get plenty of work in this one and will likely keep the Bills from forcing Joe Flacco to pass more than needed. - Cincinnati Bengals at Colts
- Green Bay Packers vs Bears
- Pittsburgh Steelers at Browns
- Seattle Seahawks at Broncos
- New York Giants vs Jaguars
- Arizona Cardinals vs Redskins
- Atlanta Falcons at Eagles
- Houston Texans at Patriots
- Washington Redskins at Cardinals
- Cleveland Browns vs Steelers
- Miami Dolphins vs Titans
- Dallas Cowboys at Panthers
- San Francisco 49ers at Vikings
- Chicago Bears at Packers
- Oakland Raiders vs Rams
