Fantasy Football Quarter Season: Buy or Sell

By Jacob Koehler

A quarter way through the season, we are starting to get a feel for how teams and players stack up. This brings great opportunity to betting app users and fantasy team managers alike. many fantasy owners are starting to look around for trades. Whether you are looking to buy or sell on players, this is a crucial part of the fantasy season. Here are some players you should target, and others you can replace for better options.

Buy:

Terry McLaurin – Scary Terry finally has a capable quarterback in Washington. One of the most underrated receivers in the NFL now can be counted on for more consistency with Daniels leading the team. Due to a slow first 2 games, McLaurin is only 25th at his position so far, but that will rise quickly now that the connection is beginning to flourish with his rookie QB. I would especially target Terry if you have Daniels as your quarterback.

Brian Thomas Jr. – Rookie wide receiver Brain Thomas Jr. is off to a quietly great start to his career. His performance has been overshadowed by the Jaguars’ 0-4 start, but Thomas is overall WR14 averaging 14.5 ppg. The clear WR1 for the Jags should continue to produce and improve. It looks like the Jags will be playing from behind a lot, so a lot of passing opportunities will come.

James Conner – The factor to like the most with James Conner this season is opportunity. Conner has had a heavy workload this season, but the most promising part is that workload hasn’t counted on the game script. Even in a blowout loss to Washington, Conner carried the ball 18 times for 104 yards and a TD. He is currently RB 17 averaging 15.1 points in PPR leagues. It won’t cost too much to trade for an every-week starter.

Sell:

Anthony Richardson – AR15 is off to an abysmal start to the season. A small sample size had fantasy players convinced he would be a top option this year. So far, Richardson is running the ball less and turning it over more. However, he still will have value in trading him away to people who are buying based on potential. Richardson is QB21 averaging just 11.6 ppg, which is a major letdown for someone being drafted as QB3 or 4 in most leagues. Throw him into a package to upgrade at a different position of need and cut your losses before the potential isn’t enough for anyone to want him.

Travis Etienne Jr. – It’s never good to have the star running backs of a bad football team. It wasn’t expected that Etienne would fall into that category before the season, but it has become a reality. He has struggled with small injuries and has a young running back behind him that has looked good. Etienne hasn’t been terrible, but he won’t live up to his draft position this season. His trade value is still fairly high, so sell the current RB26 while you can.

Kenneth Walker III – Walker has missed a few games and performed great in the ones he has played in. This isn’t a sell option because of lack of production, it is an opportunity to sell high after a 3-TD game. Walker has been injury-riddled, and Zach Charbonnet has filled in nicely. I expect their carries to get closer to even if Seattle is trying to protect Walker’s health. Don’t let him go for cheap, but Walker could be a great piece to target a top-tier fantasy player.
