2008 Fantasy Football – Experts Draft

For the second year in a row, JunkyardJake.com organized a fantasy football league for some of the football Web sites across the internet. Here are Last Year’s Results.

Twelve of the following sites were chosen to compete in the 2008 Bum Phillips Texas Barbecue Fantasy Expert Challenge:

The draft was 18 rounds, and the order is the one I displayed above. Here’s how the draft went, along with comments from each site (if available).

Round 1
  1. FantasyFootballWhiz selects LaDainian Tomlinson, RB, Chargers
    No comment available.

  2. RotoWorld.com selects Steven Jackson, RB, Rams
    No comment available.

  3. FantasyFootballXtreme.com selects Adrian Peterson, RB, Vikings
    No comment available.

  4. FF Report selects Joseph Addai, RB, Colts
    No comment available.

  5. WalterFootball.com selects Brian Westbrook, RB, Eagles
Last year, I stole Brian Westbrook at No. 11. I believe he’s a steal here as well. I probably would have drafted Westbrook if I had the second pick, so I love that I was able to obtain him fifth overall.

  6. Fantasy Index selects Marion Barber, RB, Cowboys
    No comment available.

  7. Football Jabber selects Tom Brady, QB, Patriots
    No comment available.

  8. FF Jungle selects Randy Moss, WR, Patriots
It’s pick 8…at this point, the running backs are good, but not great, and there are plenty of QBs left. Moss won’t likely reach 23 TDs again, but could manage 15-20 this season. He is arguably the best fantasy receiver, so I will be starting at least one top-flight guy…

  9. FF Toolbox selects Frank Gore, RB, 49ers
    No comment available.

  10. Junkyard Jake selects Marshawn Lynch, RB, Bills
    No comment available.

  11. Fantasy Sports Central selects Clinton Portis, RB, Redskins
    No comment available.

  12. Monster Draft selects Larry Johnson, RB, Chiefs
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: I loved getting Brian Westbrook at No. 5, but taking myself out of the picture, Frank Gore shouldn’t have been available at No. 9. He’s fifth in my 2008 Fantasy Football Rankings – Top 150.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: I don’t like Larry Johnson this year. Herman Edwards overworked him in 2006, and I don’t think he’s ready to bounce back, especially with an abysmal offensive line. I wouldn’t take him before Round 4.

Round 2
  1. Monster Draft selects Reggie Wayne, WR, Colts
    No comment available.

  2. Fantasy Sports Central selects Ryan Grant, RB, Packers
I really like Grant this year.

  3. Junkyard Jake selects Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jaguars
    No comment available.

  4. FF Toolbox selects Peyton Manning, QB, Colts
    No comment available.

  5. FF Jungle selects Jamal Lewis, RB, Browns
Hoping for more of the 2007 magic. Barring injury, Lewis should at least be a solid, safe pick here.

  6. Football Jabber selects Willis McGahee, RB, Ravens
    No comment available.

  7. Fantasy Index selects Terrell Owens, WR, Cowboys
    No comment available.

  8. WalterFootball.com selects Andre Johnson, WR, Texans
I know some people have Braylon Edwards and other receivers above Andre Johnson, but Johnson is my No. 2 wideout. He completely dominated when he played last season. I have no questions about his durability; he started all 16 games in 2006, 2004 and 2003.

  9. FF Report selects Edgerrin James, RB, Cardinals
    No comment available.

  10. FantasyFootballXtreme.com selects Braylon Edwards, WR, Browns
    No comment available.

  11. RotoWorld.com selects Reggie Bush, RB, Saints
    No comment available.

  12. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Marques Colston, WR, Saints
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: Ryan Grant is undervalued in some drafts. People think he’s a fluke, but ask the Seahawks; Grant ran for 200 yards against them in the second round of the playoffs. Grant should be drafted at the bottom of Round 1 in a 12-man league.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: No picks that I hate, but I feel that Edgerrin James was drafted a bit high. He wore down at the end of last season, and was replaced in short-yardage situations. Plus, it’s tough to justify going RB-RB when there is such a shortage of wide receivers this season.

Round 3
  1. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Drew Brees, QB, Saints
Love having the combo here, especially since I think they will explode this year.

  2. RotoWorld.com selects Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Cardinals
    No comment available.

  3. FantasyFootballXtreme.com selects Chad Johnson, WR, Bengals
    No comment available.

  4. FF Report selects Antonio Gates, TE, Chargers
    No comment available.

  5. WalterFootball.com selects Tony Romo, QB, Cowboys
I was hoping for Marques Colston or Chad Johnson to fall to me in the third round, but I’ll have to “settle” for Tony Romo, whom I think will throw for 30+ touchdowns again.

  6. Fantasy Index selects Steve Smith, WR, Panthers
Glad I don’t have to pass on Romo here, since 3 Cowboys in 3 picks would have been a little unwise. We think a healthy Jake Delhomme ensures a bounce-back year for Steve Smith, making him an easy choice at this point.

  7. Football Jabber selects T.J. Houshmandzadeh, WR, Bengals
    No comment available.

  8. FF Jungle selects Earnest Graham, RB, Buccaneers
Getting a player with Graham’s potential with the eighth of the third round isn’t horrible. Now I have to hope he wasn’t a 10-game wonder.

  9. FF Toolbox selects Laurence Maroney, RB, Patriots
    No comment available.

  10. FantasyFootballXtreme selects Michael Turner, RB, Falcons
Junkyard Jake traded this pick, 7.10 and 8.03 to FF Xtreme for pick Nos. 4.10, 5.03 and 8.10.

  11. Fantasy Sports Central selects Plaxico Burress, WR, Giants
    No comment available.

  12. Monster Draft selects Brandon Jacobs, RB, Giants
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: Finally, a draft where someone takes Chad Johnson before T.J. Houshmandzadeh! I can finally regain my sanity. Because of his offseason antics and bogus ankle injury (he’s fine), Johnson is extremely undervalued.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: I didn’t mention this yet. Every team had six hours to make a draft pick. So, this draft lasted about three weeks. At the time, Brandon Jacobs was a great selection. Unfortunately for Monster Draft, news of a possible Running Back By Committee came out of Giants’ training camp, which doesn’t bode well for Jacobs’ 2008 stats.

Round 4
  1. Monster Draft selects Ronnie Brown, RB, Dolphins
    No comment available.

  2. Fantasy Sports Central selects Torry Holt, WR, Rams
    No comment available.

  3. Junkyard Jake selects Jason Witten, TE, Cowboys
    No comment available.

  4. FF Toolbox selects Brandon Marshall, WR, Broncos
    No comment available.

  5. FF Jungle selects Marvin Harrison, WR, Colts
I took a risk on Harrison last year and he killed me. This year, I look at this pick in round four as a medium-risk, high-reward selection. If he can give me 1,100 yards and 10 scores, which is a possibility if he stays healthy, I’ll be happy.

  6. Football Jabber selects Anquan Boldin, WR, Cardinals
    No comment available.

  7. Fantasy Index selects Wes Welker, WR, Patriots
    No comment available.

  8. WalterFootball.com selects Jonathan Stewart, RB, Panthers
Anquan Boldin almost fell to me, so I was disappointed to see him go two picks earlier. Without a top-tier WR on the board, I’m not running the risk of Jonathan Stewart not being there in Round 5. The Panthers have a massive offensive line and will run Stewart a lot. DeAngelo Williams, a Kevin Faulk/Kenny Watson clone, is not a factor.

  9. FF Report selects Selvin Young, RB, Broncos
    No comment available.

  10. Junkyard Jake selects Roy Williams, WR, Lions
    No comment available.

  11. RotoWorld.com selects Carson Palmer, QB, Bengals
    No comment available.

  12. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Kellen Winslow, TE, Browns
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: I guess everyone overblew this Marvin Harrison stuff, huh? Harrison reportedly is looking perfectly fine in training camp. FF Jungle landed what could be a top 10 receiver in the fourth round.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: Brandon Marshall has been suspended for three games, and that sentence could be extended depending on what happens with his next DUI trial. If Roger Goodell keeps Marshall out for more games, FFToolbox’s receiving corps could be in shambles.

Round 5
  1. FantasyFootballWhiz selects LenDale White, RB, Titans
    No comment available.

  2. RotoWorld.com selects Santonio Holmes, WR, Steelers
    No comment available.

  3. Junkyard Jake selects Darren McFadden, RB, Raiders
Ut-oh, You guys probably know a secret about McFadden, surprised to see him drop this far. 🙂

  4. FF Report selects Matt Forte, RB, Bears
    No comment available.

  5. WalterFootball.com selects Dwayne Bowe, WR, Chiefs
Tough choice here for my WR2, as I considered a lot of options. Dwayne Bowe is the highest-rated receiver left on my board by a small margin.

  6. Fantasy Index selects Kevin Smith, RB, Lions
    No comment available.

  7. Football Jabber selects Willie Parker, RB, Steelers
    No comment available.

  8. FF Jungle selects Greg Jennings, WR, Packers
Jennings is a solid receiver with a great upside to team with Moss and Harrison.

  9. FF Toolbox selects Roddy White, WR, Falcons
    No comment available.

  10. Junkyard Jake selects Lee Evans, WR, Bills
    No comment available.

  11. Fantasy Sports Central selects Calvin Johnson, WR, Lions
    No comment available.

  12. Monster Draft selects Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Steelers
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: If Brandon Marshall is suspended for half the year, Roddy White will make a great WR1 for FFToolbox. White eliminated his habit of dropping easy passes and broke out for a monstrous season in 2007. He’s having an outstanding camp as well, so if the Falcons can somehow get solid production out of the quarterback position (we said the same thing about Cleveland a year ago), White could be among the league leaders in every category.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: I don’t like Kevin Smith. He carried the ball 450 times last year. That’s 34 more times than Larry Johnson rushed the ball in 2006 – in two less games! There’s no way Smith lasts the entire year.

Round 6
  1. Fantasy Football Xtreme selects Derek Anderson, QB, Browns
Monster Draft traded this pick and 10.01 to FF Xtreme for pick Nos. 7.03 and 7.10

This guy is going to hang with the big dogs right out of the gate in 2008. He may not finish in the top 3 when all is said and done, but he will have a cup of coffee with that top 4-5 this year!

  2. Fantasy Sports Central selects Thomas Jones, RB, Jets
    No comment available.

  3. Junkyard Jake selects Jerricho Cotchery, WR, Jets
    No comment available.

  4. FF Toolbox selects Tony Gonzalez, TE, Chiefs
    No comment available.

  5. FF Jungle selects Chris Cooley, TE, Redskins
Cooley has played all 16 games each of the last few years and has racked up an average of 765 yards and seven scores over that time. I love that type of consistency.

  6. Football Jabber selects Dallas Clark, TE, Colts
    No comment available.

  7. Fantasy Index selects Jay Cutler, QB, Broncos
    No comment available.

  8. WalterFootball.com selects Todd Heap, TE, Ravens
I like Todd Heap a lot this year, and I put him on par with some tight ends who have been taken already. Everyone seems to be downgrading Heap because of his torn hamstring last year. Well, he’s healthy now. I’m confident with him as my starting tight end.

  9. FF Report selects Donovan McNabb, QB, Eagles
    No comment available.

  10. FantasyFootballXtreme.com selects Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Steelers
    No comment available.

  11. RotoWorld.com selects Kevin Curtis, WR, Eagles
    No comment available.

  12. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Fred Taylor, RB, Jaguars
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: I have no idea why Thomas Jones went so low in this draft. How did RBBC Willie Parker, and unproven mid-round NFL Draft picks Kevin Smith and Matt Forte go in front of him? I was going to take Jones if he fell to me. He’s a steal at 6.02.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: This is not a touchdown league, so I don’t get Dallas Clark over the likes of Todd Heap and Jeremy Shockey, especially with Marvin Harrison looking great.

Round 7
  1. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Bobby Engram, WR, Seahawks
    No comment available.

  2. RotoWorld.com selects Santana Moss, WR, Redskins
    No comment available.

  3. Monster Draft selects Chris Chambers, WR, Chargers
    No comment available.

  4. FF Report selects Joey Galloway, WR, Buccaneers
    No comment available.

  5. WalterFootball.com selects Hines Ward, WR, Steelers
What happened to all the receivers?

  6. Fantasy Index selects Rudi Johnson, RB, Bengals
    No comment available.

  7. Football Jabber selects Julius Jones, RB, Seahawks
    No comment available.

  8. FF Jungle selects Matt Hasselbeck, QB, Seahawks
Really wanted Rudi Johnson with this pick, but since he’s gone, I guess I will resort to grabbing a QB. Hasselbeck has been a quality guy when he plays 16 games, so I figure this year should be no different.

  9. FF Toolbox selects Chargers Defense
    No comment available.

  10. FantasyFootballXtreme selects RB Chester Taylor, RB, Vikings
Monster Draft traded this pick and 18.01 to FantasyFootballXtreme for pick Nos. 8.03 and 12.10

  11. Fantasy Sports Central selects Laveranues Coles, WR, Jets
    No comment available.

  12. Monster Draft selects Donald Driver, WR, Packers
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: Tied for Rudi Johnson and Julius Jones. With news coming out about Johnson looking great and T.J. Duckett potentially getting cut, those two running backs were steals in the seventh round.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: I shouldn’t have drafted a mediocre WR3 like Hines Ward with talented running backs like Johnson and Jones still on the board.

Round 8
  1. Monster Draft selects Jeremy Shockey, TE, Giants
    No comment available.

  2. Fantasy Sports Central selects David Garrad, QB, Jaguars
I really like Grant this year.

  3. Monster Draft selects Ricky Williams, RB, Dolphins
    No comment available.

  4. FF Toolbox selects Ryan Torain, RB, Broncos
    No comment available.

  5. FF Jungle selects Ahman Green, RB, Texans
Just for the record, I hate this pick. The only reason I’m making it is because I have to have at least one viable bye-week running back possibility, and there aren’t many options left. Ugh!

  6. Football Jabber selects Vikings Defense
    No comment available.

  7. Fantasy Index selects Chris Johnson, RB, Titans
Considering I’m relying on a Matt Millen pick at No. 2 RB, I feel a need for other options. Hence Rudi Johnson, and now Chris. I’m not totally sold on LenDale White as a feature guy, and I think the Titans will use Johnson all over the field (it’s not like their receivers are any good). Could be a decent all-purpose runner-receiver at this point in the draft.

  8. WalterFootball.com selects Pierre Thomas, RB, Saints
Someone has to carry the ball in New Orleans. Deuce McAllister is coming off two knee surgeries and a torn ACL. Reggie Bush can’t do it by himself. Pierre Thomas totaled more than 200 yards against the Bears (in a meaningful game) in Week 17. I like his upside here.

  9. FF Report selects Javon Walker, WR, Raiders
    No comment available.

  10. Junkyard Jake selects Eli Manning, QB, Giants
    No comment available.

  11. RotoWorld.com selects Owen Daniels, TE, Texans
    No comment available.

  12. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Derrick Mason, WR, Ravens
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: Rotoworld is laughing at everyone, as they drafted a tight end just as good as Chris Cooley, Todd Heap, Dallas Clark, etc. a round or two after those guys went off the board.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: Javon Walker is coming off multiple injuries. He’s overweight. He recently had to be talked out of retirement. I wouldn’t even draft him in the 18th round.

Round 9
  1. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Patriots Defense
Might as well grab a top defense.

  2. RotoWorld.com selects Jerious Norwood, RB, Falcons
    No comment available.

  3. FantasyFootballXtreme.com selects Vernon Davis, TE, 49ers
    No comment available.

  4. FF Report selects Nate Burleson, WR, Seahawks
    No comment available.

  5. WalterFootball.com selects Jerry Porter, WR, Jaguars
Other than briefly with Jimmy Smith a long time ago, Jerry Porter will be the best receiver David Garrard has ever had to work with. Meanwhile, Porter has disappointed the past two years, but I blame that on the coaches and quarterbacks he’s been paired with. Art Shell, Kerry Collins, Aaron Brooks, Andrew Walter, Josh McCown… Shudders.

  6. Fantasy Index selects Heath Miller, TE, Steelers
    No comment available.

  7. Football Jabber selects DeAngelo Williams, RB, Panthers
    No comment available.

  8. FF Jungle selects Cowboys Defense
    No comment available.

  9. FF Toolbox selects Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Colts
    No comment available.

  10. Junkyard Jake selects Justin Fargas, RB, Raiders
    No comment available.

  11. Fantasy Sports Central selects Bernard Berrian, WR, Vikings
    No comment available.

  12. Monster Draft selects Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, Giants
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: Potential steal for Monster Draft in Ahmad Bradshaw. With the Giants going Running Back By Committee, Bradshaw is going to get a lot of touches, and he could potentially lead the team in carries this season. Good handcuff selection for Brandon Jacobs.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: As much as I loved Rotoworld’s eighth-round selection, I don’t get Jerious Norwood. He’s not going to get a lot of carries with Michael Turner in the backfield, and this is not a PPR league. Even if Turner goes down, I wouldn’t expect much production out of Norwood.

Round 10
  1. FantasyFootballXtreme selects Donte’ Stallworth, WR, Browns
    No comment available. (TRADED PICK)

  2. Fantasy Sports Central selects Tony Scheffler, TE, Broncos
    No comment available.

  3. Junkyard Jake selects Vince Young, QB, Titans
    No comment available.

  4. FF Toolbox selects Sidney Rice, WR, Vikings
    No comment available.

  5. FF Jungle selects Patrick Crayton, WR, Cowboys
Crayton should fill in nicely on a bye week or two.

  6. Football Jabber selects Reggie Brown, WR, Eagles
    No comment available.

  7. Fantasy Index selects Philip Rivers, QB, Chargers
    No comment available.

  8. WalterFootball.com selects Bears Defense
The Bears’ defense was really banged up last year, and it still managed to accumulate lots of sacks and defensive touchdowns. With everyone back, those totals are bound to increase. Oh, and having Devin Hester also intrigues me.

  9. FF Report selects Ted Ginn, WR, Dolphins
    No comment available.

  10. FantasyFootballXtreme.com selects Felix Jones, RB, Cowboys
    No comment available.

  11. RotoWorld.com selects Steelers Defense
    No comment available.

  12. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Muhsin Muhammad, WR, Panthers
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: Like Rotoworld, Fantasy Sports Central grabs a tight end who’s just about as good as some of the other players at that position drafted earlier.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: Junkyard Jake landed a quarterback pretty late (Eli Manning), so I can see why he took another one so quickly. However, Vince Young wasn’t much of a fantasy factor last season, as he’s determined to be a pocket passer for whatever reason. I would have went Matt Schaub, but we’ll see what happens.

Round 11
  1. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Maurice Morris, RB, Seahawks
    No comment available.

  2. RotoWorld.com selects Nick Folk, K, Cowboys
    No comment available.

  3. FantasyFootballXtreme.com selects Marc Bulger, QB, Rams
    No comment available.

  4. FF Report selects Isaac Bruce, WR, 49ers
    No comment available.

  5. WalterFootball.com selects Kurt Warner, QB, Cardinals
Kurt Warner carried me to a championship last year, so I sort of feel obligated here. Actually, Warner gives the Cardinals the best chance to win, so I’ll have good trade bait once he takes over for Matt Leinart.

  6. Fantasy Index selects Bryant Johnson, WR, 49ers
    No comment available.

  7. Football Jabber selects Vincent Jackson, WR, Chargers
    No comment available.

  8. FF Jungle selects Jake Delhomme, QB, Panthers
Delhomme is a probably the surest thing on the board this late in the draft. Of course, that’s if his arm is healthy…

  9. FF Toolbox selects Kenny Watson, RB, Bengals
    No comment available.

  10. Junkyard Jake selects Jaguars Defense
    No comment available.

  11. Fantasy Sports Central selects Matt Schaub, QB, Texans
    No comment available.

  12. Monster Draft selects Justin Gage, WR, Titans
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: Vincent Jackson is having an outstanding camp. Couple that with his incredible playoff run, and you would have a major sleeper if Philip Rivers’ ACL-repaired knee somehow holds up. Despite Rivers’ knee, Jackson is a steal in the 11th round.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: Matt Berry’s head would explode if he saw someone taking a kicker in the 11th round.

Round 12
  1. Monster Draft selects Jason Campbell, QB, Redskins
    No comment available.

  2. Fantasy Sports Central selects Chris Brown, RB, Texans
I really like Grant this year.

  3. Junkyard Jake selects Ronald Curry, WR, Raiders
    No comment available.

  4. FF Toolbox selects D.J. Hackett, WR, Panthers
    No comment available.

  5. FF Jungle selects Greg Olsen, TE, Bears

  6. Football Jabber selects Deuce McAllister, RB, Saints
    No comment available.

  7. Fantasy Index selects Giants Defense
    No comment available.

  8. WalterFootball.com selects Tatum Bell, RB, Lions
I figure this isn’t a bad gamble this late in the draft. Thanks to his 450 carries last year, Kevin Smith is bound to get hurt. Tatum Bell, meanwhile, is familiar with the blocking scheme the Lions will run this year. Detroit will feature a more balanced attack. If Bell can’t thrive this year, he never will.

  9. FF Report selects Chad Jackson, WR, Patriots
    No comment available.

  10. Monster Draft selects Drew Bennett, WR, Rams
    No comment available.

  11. RotoWorld.com selects Antonio Bryant, WR, Buccaneers
    No comment available.

  12. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Leon Washington, RB, Jets
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: I love Chad Jackson this year, and if I knew someone else was going to draft him moderately high, I would have eschewed Tatum Bell in favor of him. I believe Jackson will beat out Jabar Gaffney as the No. 3 receiver. That means Jackson could potentially put up solid numbers in New England’s high-octane offense.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: Chris Brown is in danger of getting cut, though to be fair, no one knew that at the time Fantasy Sports Central made the choice.

Round 13
  1. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Jon Kitna, QB, Lions
    No comment available.

  2. RotoWorld.com selects Ray Rice, RB, Ravens
    No comment available.

  3. FantasyFootballXtreme.com selects Jamaal Charles, RB, Chiefs
    No comment available.

  4. FF Report selects Packers Defense
    No comment available.

  5. WalterFootball.com selects Steve Smith, WR, Giants
I had Steve Smith on my team last year, so I thought I’d try my luck with him again. OK, maybe it was the other Steve Smith, but this Steve Smith stepped up in the playoffs for the Giants. With Jeremy Shockey gone, Eli will look his way more and more. At least I hope so.

  6. Fantasy Index selects Ben Watson, TE, Patriots
Apparently, he’s healthy. As long as he is, or until he gets hurt, he’ll be a solid option at the position.

  7. Football Jabber selects Aaron Rodgers, QB, Packers
    No comment available.

  8. FF Jungle selects Seahawks Defense
    No comment available.

  9. FF Toolbox selects Matt Leinart, QB, Cardinals
    No comment available.

  10. Junkyard Jake selects Robert Meachem, WR, Saints
    No comment available.

  11. Fantasy Sports Central selects Alge Crumpler, TE, Titans
    No comment available.

  12. Monster Draft selects Derrick Ward, RB, Giants
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: Why is everyone so down on Aaron Rodgers? He’s a top 12 quarterback in my mind. It’s not like he’s some bum the Packers fell in love with; he was a top-five NFL Draft prospect before he slipped like Ben Roethlisberger and Brady Quinn. Football Jabber with a steal at 13.07.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: I can’t say I hate any pick in this round, so I’ll just comment on how frustrating Ben Watson is. He’ll score 13 points one week and one the next.

Round 14
  1. Monster Draft selects Donald Lee, TE, Packers
    No comment available.

  2. Fantasy Sports Central selects Ladell Betts, RB, Redskins
I really like Grant this year.

  3. Junkyard Jake selects James Hardy, WR, Bills
    No comment available.

  4. FF Toolbox selects Sammy Morris, RB, Patriots
    No comment available.

  5. FF Jungle selects Stephen Gostkowski, K, Patriots

  6. Football Jabber selects Kevin Walter, WR, Texans
    No comment available.

  7. Fantasy Index selects Brandon Jackson, RB, Packers
    No comment available.

  8. WalterFootball.com selects Brett Favre, QB, TBA
Meh, why not? It’s the 14th round. Who else am I going to draft, Warrick Dunn? This could either be a waste or a really good pick.

  9. FF Report selects Reggie Williams, WR, Jaguars
    No comment available.

  10. FantasyFootballExtreme.com selects Lamont Jordan, RB, Patriots
    No comment available.

  11. RotoWorld.com selects Alex Smith, QB, 49ers
    No comment available.

  12. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Justin McCareins, WR, Titans
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: Considering I was thinking about taking Brett Favre in the 11th round, Favre could be a major steal here if he even comes close to matching last year’s numbers.

Worst Fantasy Draft Pick: Again, Matt Berry seeing a kicker drafted in the 14th round of an 18-round draft could inspire him to write a 5,000-word essay on how much he hates kickers, and why he thinks they should all be deported to Mexico.

Round 15
  1. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Kevin Boss, TE, Giants
    No comment available.

  2. RotoWorld.com selects Brian Calhoun, RB, Lions
    No comment available.

  3. FantasyFootballXtreme.com selects Darrell Jackson, WR, Broncos
    No comment available.

  4. FF Report selects Deion Branch, WR, Seahawks
    No comment available.

  5. WalterFootball.com selects Zach Miller, TE, Raiders
Solid backup tight end. I’m intrigued by Zach Miller based on his performance in JaMarcus Russell’s only start.

  6. Fantasy Index selects Chris Perry, RB, Bengals
There’s some debate over the Bengals’ depth chart at running back, but when healthy — as he is right now — Perry is probably the best of all of them. At this point in the draft, I may as well double my chances of getting the Cincinnati starter.

  7. Football Jabber selects Nate Kaeding, K, Chargers
    No comment available.

  8. FF Jungle selects Kevin Smith, RB, Bears
    No comment available.

  9. FF Toolbox selects Devin Hester, WR, Bears
    No comment available.

  10. Junkyard Jake selects Fred Jackson, RB, Bills
I hope I have enough Buffalo Bills on my squad. I think the formula is (4 Buffalo Bills) is the equivalent of (1 New England Patriot), or something like that.

  11. Fantasy Sports Central selects Mark Clayton, WR, Ravens
    No comment available.

  12. Monster Draft selects Ravens Defense
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: Who’s the Boss? Fantasy Football Whiz is for drafting a potential steal in Kevin Boss this late. The Giants liked Boss enough to trade away Jeremy Shockey.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick No. 2: I’m not going to bash any picks in the final four rounds, so I’ll look for more steals. Darrell Jackson was a great find at 15.03. He’s having a great camp, and with Brandon Marshall potentially suspended for half the year, Jackson could be primed for a 1,000-yard campaign.

Round 16
  1. Monster Draft selects Colts Defense
    No comment available.

  2. Fantasy Sports Central selects Buccaneers Defense
I really like Grant this year.

  4. FF Toolbox selects Steve Slaton, RB, Texans

  5. FF Jungle selects Jabar Gaffney, WR, Patriots

  6. Football Jabber selects L.J. Smith, TE, Eagles
    No comment available.

  7. Fantasy Index selects Titans Defense
    No comment available.

  8. WalterFootball.com selects Mason Crosby, K, Packers
I’ll take the kicker I want now, and I’ll grab my sleepers while everyone else is drafting kickers.

  9. FF Report selects Trent Edwards, QB, Bills
    No comment available.

  10. FantasyFootballExtreme.com selects DeShaun Foster, RB, 49ers
    No comment available.

  11. RotoWorld.com selects Ben Utecht, TE, Bengals
    No comment available.

  12. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Adam Vinatieri, K, Colts
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: Ben Utecht will be a factor in Cincinnati’s offense. Rotoworld drafts another solid tight end really late.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick No. 2: With Chris Brown on his way out of the league, Steve Slaton could get a good amount of touches, especially if Ahman Green gets injured again.

Round 17
  1. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Laurent Robinson, WR, Falcons

  2. RotoWorld.com selects Mike Walker, WR, Jaguars

  3. FantasyFootballXtreme.com selects JaMarcus Russell, QB, Raiders

  4. FF Report selects Josh Brown, K, Rams
    No comment available.

  5. WalterFootball.com selects Limas Sweed, WR, Steelers
I don’t like this pick, but the computer made it for me. My time limit expired. For some reason, I never received an alert e-mail telling me my turn was up.

  6. Fantasy Index selects James Jones, WR, Packers
    No comment available.

  7. Football Jabber selects Bills Defense
    No comment available.

  8. FF Jungle selects Rob Bironas, K, Titans
    No comment available.

  9. FF Toolbox selects T.J. Duckett, RB, Seahawks
    No comment available.

  10. Junkyard Jake selects Andre Hall, RB, Broncos
    No comment available.

  11. Fantasy Sports Central selects Shayne Graham, K, Bengals
    No comment available.

  12. Monster Draft selects David Akers, K, Eagles
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: Nothing wrong with drafting a starting receiver in the 17th round. Fantasy Football Whiz got one in Laurent Robinson.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick No. 2: The same applies for Rotoworld; Mike Walker could be the No. 2 guy in Jacksonville until Jerry Porter gets back from being hurt.

Round 18
  1. FantasyFootballXtreme.com selects Phil Dawson, K, Browns
    No comment available.

  2. Fantasy Sports Central selects Jets Defense
I really like Grant this year.

  3. Junkyard Jake selects Ryan Longwell, K, Vikings
    No comment available.

  4. FF Toolbox selects Robbie Gould, K, Bears
    No comment available.

  5. FF Jungle selects Dominic Rhodes, RB, Colts

  6. Football Jabber selects Neil Rackers, K, Cardinals
    No comment available.

  7. Fantasy Index selects Josh Scobee, K, Jaguars
    No comment available.

  8. WalterFootball.com selects Early Doucet, WR, Cardinals
I hate rookie receivers, but first-year wideouts out of LSU have done extremely well recently (i.e. Michael Clayton and Dwayne Bowe). Arizona’s passing attack will be missing Bryant Johnson this year, but Early Doucet is skilled enough to fill that void.

  9. FF Report selects Chad Pennington, QB, Jets
    No comment available.

  10. FantasyFootballExtreme.com selects Cardinals Defense
    No comment available.

  11. RotoWorld.com selects Amani Toomer, WR, Giants
    No comment available.

  12. FantasyFootballWhiz selects Jalen Parmele, RB, Dolphins
    No comment available.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick: I was hoping Dominic Rhodes would fall to me. News just broke out that he was cemented in as the No. 2 running back behind Joseph Addai.

Best Fantasy Draft Pick No. 2: Fantasy Football Whiz had the last pick in the draft, but Jalen Parmele is not Mr. Irrelevant. With Ronnie Brown coming off a torn ACL and Ricky Williams running away from pink dragons, Parmele could be the starting running back in Miami by mid-season.
