Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq has created a buzz in the scouting community, and Sadiq gave proof of that against Oklahoma State. While Sadiq did not have a huge stat line, catching two passes for 40 yards, he contributed and showed his well-rounded ability and mismatch skills for the NFL.
In the first quarter, Sadiq showed a nice job winning a block on a defensive end to help spring his back for a chunk run. Shortly later, Sadiq came into motion and won a kick-out block to spring an end-around run for a Ducks touchdown. In the second quarter, Sadiq got open running an out route, and after making a short reception, he darted down the sideline for a gain of 26. Just before halftime, Sadiq drove blocked a cornerback down the sideline to help his receiver get a chunk gain on a screen. In the third quarter, Sadiq got open running an out route for a gain of 14 yards.
For the NFL, Sadiq is a mismatch receiver as he is very athletic and fast. Sadiq is a smooth route runner with a burst of speed, making it challenging to keep him from getting separation. While Sadiq is not huge, he blocks well for his size and gives a good effort. Sadiq looks like a pro starter, and he could go in the first or second round next April.

Oregon left tackle Isaiah World cruised over Oklahoma State. World did a nice job of winning his blocks in both phases. In the second quarter, World had one underwhelming play where he slowed up a speed rusher enough for a long touchdown pass, but the rusher did get their hands on quarterback Dante Moore just after ball was released. World did a good job in the ground game of pushing around his defender and opening holes at the point of attack. He helped the Ducks run for over 300 yards with five rushing touchdowns. World packed a real punch and rocked a defensive end on a goal-line touchdown run. It will be interesting to see how World plays when he sees some future pro edge rushers.

Oregon defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei flashed serious ability in 2024 with 10 sacks and some highlight reel plays. However, team sources did not like the inconsistency with Uiagalelei. Against Oklahoma State, Uiagalelei was a non-factor. He had one tackle and did not harass the quarterback. Uiagalelei did not show an impressive motor or effort on runs that went away from him. This tape is not going to help Uiagalelei.

Illinois 45, Duke 19

Illinois defensive end Gabe Jacas could have been a day-two pick had he entered the 2025 NFL Draft, but Jacas decided to return to Illinois. That could prove to be a great decision as Jacas is off to a red-hot start, and if he stays consistent, he could rise to being an opening night pick. In the season opener, Jacas had two sacks, five tackles, and a forced fumble. Against Duke, he picked up where he left off.
In the second quarter, Jacas worked his way upfield, and when the quarterback climbed the pocket, Jacas reversed field and chased down the quarterback for a strip-sack. It was an impressive play from Jacas for his third sack and second forced fumble of the season. In the second half, Jacas was getting upfield and getting some pressure.
For the NFL, Jacas looks like he has the potential to be a starting edge rusher. In the ground game, Jacas has functional strength to hold his ground and get in on runs outside of his gap. Jacas is strong and quick in the pass rush, showing the ability to get after the quarterback as a versatile rusher. He can beat tackles with quickness off the edge, strength to fight through blocks, and second efforts. Jacas looks like he could be an early-round pick next April.

There was a good draft matchup in this game with Illinois left tackle J.C. Davis taking on Duke edge rusher Vincent Anthony Jr. Davis was one of the best offensive linemen in the Big 10 last season, and Anthony was included on the NFL teams’ preseason prospect watch list. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound Anthony was a monster in the first half against Illinois.
Midway through the first quarter, Davis had Duke defensive end Vincent Anthony Jr. get upfield on him and dip underneath Davis to turn the corner and get to the quarterback for a third-down sack. Anthony added another sack shortly later at the expense of other blockers. Early in the second quarter, the same play repeated itself with Anthony dipping underneath Davis for another sack. The next play, Davis made a superb block downfield on a screen to spring his receiver for a long gain. The play after that, Davis hit another block to blast open a running lane for his back.
In the second half, Illinois sent some help to Davis, and Anthony was held in check. Still, this was a great tape for Anthony, showing his ability to bend and get low when rushing around the corner. This tape will definitely help his draft grade. Davis did a nice job as a run blocker, but he had ugly plays in pass protection, showing a lack of depth in his kick slide, bending at the waist, and reaching after defenders. This tape definitely won’t help his draft grade and is going to hurt him.

There was a good draft matchup in this game with Iowa State nose tackle Dominique Orange taking on Iowa center Logan Jones. At 6-foot-4, 335 pounds, Orange is a large defender, and it was interesting to see how the 6-foot-3, 290-pound Jones could handle a big tackle. Overall, Orange played well, but he did not wreck the game for Iowa.
In the second quarter, Orange worked off a block from the right guard to pressure Gronowski into a third-down incompletion. Throughout the game, Orange was holding his ground at the point of attack, and Iowa was not getting any push on him. Orange made a big play midway through the fourth when he bulled his way into the backfield and took down a running back for a loss.
For the NFL, Orange is a heavy nose tackle who is tough to move at the point of attack. He is heavy, powerful, and has overwhelming size at the point of attack. Offensive linemen can’t move him in the ground game as he holds his ground and is very good at defending downhill runs straight at him. Orange locks down his gap and shows pretty good quickness and athleticism for a heavy nose tackle to flow down the line on perimeter or off-tackle runs. Orange has the power to push the pocket as a pass rusher and help take away the lane for the quarterback to step up, but he is not a dynamic speed rusher with moves that dominate NFL offensive linemen. He could be a rotational player who comes out of the game a fair amount in the sub package.

Jones was solid against Iowa State. He did not get beaten for any sacks and was reliable in pass protection. He was not getting much of a push as a ground blocker, and Jones should add strength for the NFL. He might need some developmental time as a backup. Jones could be a day-three pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
