In the recent weeks, there have been a lot of questions about which players to avoid in the 2023 NFL Draft class. Every draft has some players who are selected highly only to end up massive disappointments in the NFL. Here, we break down some potential busts infor the 2023 NFL Draft.

Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida
Richardson is the ultimate boom-or-bust prospect. He has amazing athletic ability with rare speed and power as a runner. Along with dynamic running ability, Richardson is a big quarterback with a cannon for a right arm who throws a beautiful deep ball. However, he is extremely raw with terrible accuracy, field vision, and pocket-passing struggles. Richardson offers big-time risk, but he offers huge reward if he pans out.

Will Levis, QB, Kentucky
Similar to Richardson, Levis has an excellent skill set with starting-caliber talent for the NFL. Levis has a strong arm, big size, athleticism and toughness. However, Levis can have accuracy Simpson and has big problems with decision-making. Written months ago in his Scouting Report, we had an excellent quote from a team source:

“He has no feel,” said an AFC director of player personnel. “He doesn’t feel the rush, holds onto the ball too long, gets his a** knocked off, and takes some bad sacks. He has poor decisio- making and tries to strong arm the ball into traffic. I hate to say it, but he reminded me of Jeff Driskel.”

Levis probably will get selected in Round 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft, but he definitely is a boom-or-bust candidate like Richardson.

Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee
Some analysts are projecting Hyatt to be a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and I think that could be a dangerous selection. Hyatt is a one-trick pony speed receiver who was a 1-year wonder in college. He could get selected in Round 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft because it is a weak receiver class, but Hyatt is really a third-round talent, according to multiple team sources. Of the receivers who could go early in the 2023 NFL Draft, Hyatt looks like he has the most bust potential.

Will Mallory, TE, Miami
Mallory has a lot of talent, as he has good speed and quality size. However, he is a very soft blocker and has inconsistent hands. Mallory also never played up to his potential at Miami. After a good combine workout though, he has a shot at being a second-day pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. If he’s taken that high, however, I think he could end up being a disappointment as a pro.
