2010 NFL Draft Combine Stock Report

Jahvid Best had an impressive Combine, running a 4.35 40. He would be a sure-fire first-rounder if it weren’t for his injury/concussion history.

Dezmon Briscoe ran really poorly on Sunday, notching a 4.61 40.

Really struggled in the passing drills at the Combine. He’s a late-round prospect.

On a day that featured impressive 40s, Jonathan Dwyer managed a meager 4.59 despite losing more than 10 pounds. He may slip to Round 3.

With barely any playing experience, Marcus Easley is a bit of a project. But he’s undoubtedly physically gifted; at 6-3, 210, Easley ran a 4.46 and notched a 10-3 broad jump on Sunday. He’s a mid-round guy with a lot of upside.

Jacoby Ford blew everyone away at the Combine with a 4.28 40. You know that a certain undead owner in Oakland was paying attention.

Most expected Toby Gerhart to fail in the 40, but Gerhart surprised everyone by running a solid 4.53. He also had a 38-inch vertical.

Montario Hardesty posted very impressive numbers at the Combine. Despite putting on 10 pounds, Hardesty ran a 4.49, and paced all running backs in the vertical (41 inches) and broad jump (10-4). He’s a great fit for a zone-blocking team like Houston, Seattle or Washington.

Not the Combine performance Brandon LaFell wanted. LaFell timed in at 4.59, which may eliminate his chances of going in Round 1.

Really disappointed everyone by not throwing at the Combine. This was his chance to emerge as the No. 3 quarterback in this class, but he didn’t take advantage of the opportunity.

The most impressive running back at the Combine, Ryan Mathews ran a 4.41 and notched a 10-1 broad jump. He also looked great catching the ball in the drills. It’ll be a mild upset if he falls out of the first round.

Running a 4.49 at 6-3, 215, Carlton Mitchell might be nearing “great player” territory. Can a raw receiver be overdrafted based on his measurables? As long as Al Davis is in the NFL, absolutely.

Given his injury history and age, Jordan Shipley needed a strong Combine to cement his Day 2 status. That didn’t happen. Shipley ran a 4.57 in the 40, which will likely push him into Day 3.

Jevan Snead was the most impressive quarterback at the Combine, displaying tremendous accuracy during the drills. Accuracy and decision-making betrayed him this past season, so it was good to see him improve in one of those two areas.

Ben Tate made a lot of noise at the Combine, running a 4.45 at 220 pounds. He also posted 26 reps of 225, a vertical of 40.5 inches and a 10-4 broad jump.

The Golden Tate Warrior had a fantastic Sunday at the Combine, running a 4.36 and notching a 10-0 broad jump. There’s a good chance he’ll be drafted at the bottom of Round 1.

A 4.7 40 didn’t help him at all.
