With the NFL trade deadline quickly approaching, there are a number of teams making calls to upgrade their rosters for potential playoff pushes. League sources say that one player who has generated a lot of interest is Denver Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles. However, the Broncos do not want to trade their 2017 first-round pick and have been turning down offers. They want to re-sign Bolles in the offseason and have him in place as part of their young offense.

The Tennessee Titans are one of the teams that have tried to trade for Bolles. A torn ACL ended the season for their starting left tackle, Taylor Lewan, and Tennessee has been forced to play journeyman Ty Sambrailo as the blind-side protector for Ryan Tannehill. They’ve inquired about Bolles, but have been rebuffed by Denver.

Bolles had a lot of struggles in his first three NFL seasons, prompting the Broncos to pass on exercising the fifth-year option in his contract. Being in a contract year, Bolles picked an excellent time to show massive improvement, and Denver is planning on giving him a big contract extension, according to sources. Those sources say the Broncos are not likely to be sellers at the trade deadline, and holding on to Bolles for the long-term is part of the Broncos’ plan.
