Teams See Umanmielen on Day 2

The 2027 NFL Draft has some early-round talent in the pass rush department, but it does not look like a class with an abundance of edge rush talent. One prospect who has been productive this season is LSU edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen. He entered Week 9 of college football third in the nation with 8/5 sacks. Umanmielen has produced well, but multiple team sources say they have Umanmielen as a day-two pick.

At 6-foot-4, 244-pound Umanmielen is not a large edge defender for the NFL. On top of lacking some size, team sources say that Umanmielen has off-the-field and makeup concerns. A few teams had Umanmielen as a second- or third-rounder while one had him as a late third- or early fourth-round pick.
