Stony Brook LT Has Buzz in Scouting Community

In August of last year, WalterFootball.com was the first football media site to shine a light on Villanova defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon and Bucknell left tackle Julie’n Davenport as being NFL prospects. Davenport ended up being a fourth-round pick of the Houston Texans, while Kpassagnon was a second-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs. The same team sources have passed along another small-school prospect who is on their radar for the 2018 NFL Draft. That player is Stony Brook left tackle Timon Parris, who similar to Davenport, has a NFL skill set at a critical position.
Parris is listed at 6-foot-5, 310 pounds and is entering his fourth season as a starter for Stony Brook. A freshman starter at right tackle for the Seawolves in 2014, 2015 Parris moved to left tackle in 2015 and has played there ever since. He was an All-CAA selection at left tackle in eah of the last two seasons.
Last August, some team sources thought Davenport was trending toward the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, but a mixed senior year and Senior Bowl sent him to the third day even though he had a earlyround skill set and it was a weak offensive tackle class. Parris will be under the microscope this year as team sources believe that he has early round potential heading into the 2017 season.
