Banks, Campbell In Play for Jaguars

Last season, Jacksonville traded away veteran left tackle Cam Robinson for draft picks and signed veteran tackle Walker Little to a contract extension. They also have a young right tackle in Anton Harrison, their first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Thus, offensive tackle does not appear to be a a need to address. Yet, franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence took a pounding in 2024, and the new Jaguars regime must get Lawrence playing at a high level. Hence, adding to the offensive line with the fifth-overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft is a consideration. Sources say the Jaguars really like Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks and also have some interest in LSU tackle Will Campbell.

The Jaguars feel they need help on the offensive line, at defensive tackle, and at cornerback. Colorado cornerback Travis Hunter probably won’t get to the fifth pick, and it sounds like Jacksonville is not that high on Michigan cornerback Will Johnson. They also feel that defensive tackle is not a premium position, and protecting Lawrence is the higher priority.

Along with protecting Lawrence, Jacksonville needs to improve its rushing offense. New head coach Liam Coen turned the tables for the Buccaneers last year, vastly improving the ground attack in Tampa Bay. The Bucs also drafted an offensive lineman for Coen in the first round. Hence, the offensive line could end up being the direction the Jaguars go with the fifth pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
