Teams Project Minnesota OT Ersery to Day 2

Offensive tackle is one of the premium positions in the NFL Draft, and with the demand for edge protectors, prospects have the potential to go earlier than their caliber of play in college. One college tackle who has had a lot of eyes on him this fall is Minnesota’s Aireontae Ersery. Speaking with area scouts, they say that Ersery has a first-round skill set, but inconsistency leads them to project him to the second draft day.

“Aireontae is a talented kid,” said an NFC area scout. “He’s got a lot of ability, but he’s too inconsistent to be a first-rounder.”

Of course, there are a lot of games left to be played, and Ersery could be a riser with a strong post-season. Doing well at the Senior Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine could cause teams to bet on his skill set and future improvement. The 6-foot-6, 325-pounder has good size to go along with some quickness and athleticism. In my latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft, I have Ersery not making it to the third round, and right now area scouts are projecting him to the second day of the draft.
