12/13/08: Another bright spot for a team with a bleak season, Bruce Johnson finished with 29 tackles and five passes broken up.

5/17/08: Bruce Johnson’s lacking size hurts him, but an excellent 40 and dynamic kick-returning abilities keeps him relatively high on this chart.

11/23/08: Jervonte Jackson finally missed a game this year. In nine contests, he has 35 tackles, 2.5 TFL and two sacks.

5/9/08: Solid defenders have been known to come out of the Sun Belt (particularly Troy State). Jervonte Jackson had three sacks in 2007, one coming against South Carolna.

2007: Jervonte Jackson hasn’t missed a game in two years. He had 46 tackles in 2006, including one sack against South Carolina.

Frantz Joseph, ILB, Florida Atlantic

Benchx225: 19. Vertical: 27.5.

1/10/09: Given his stats (see below), it’s no surprise that Frantz Joseph made the All-Sun Belt First Team.

12/7/08: A transfer from Boston College, “Viva la” Frantz Joseph recorded 141 tackles and 9.5 TFL as a senior.

Ball State

Darius Hill, TE, Ball State
Height: 6-6. Weight: 246.
Projected 40 Time: 4.81.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.72.
Benchx225: . Vertical: 31.
Projected Round (2009): 6-7.

1/5/09: An H-Back, Darius Hill registered 38 catches, 633 yards and seven touchdowns. Those numbers are much lower than his 2007 figures.

10/26/08: After 741 yards and 926 yards in his sophomore and junior seasons, Darius Hill has just 23 catches, 344 yards and three scores as a senior in eight games. Major dropoff.

5/23/08: Darius Hill improved upon his stout 2006 stats, notching 65 receptions, 926 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior. He’d be a higher prospect if he had a larger frame.

2007: This is amazing: In just 10 games, Darius Hill caught 42 passes for 741 yards and 10 touchdowns. A product of a weak conference? Think again – he had six receptions for 119 yards at Purdue. Obviously undersized, but very quick.
