Teams see Caleb Lomu as a Late 1

Earlier this week, we discussed how some teams did not see any of the offensive tackles as true top 10 talents, but not every team feels that way, as I reported that the Arizona Cardinals are high on Utah right tackle Spencer Fano. The Utes’ left tackle, Caleb Lomu, has received less attention in the media, but is a solid prospect in his own right. In speaking with multiple team sources, they see Lomu as likely to go late in the first round.

Sources from multiple teams said that Lomu looked like a future starting left tackle in the NFL. They felt he was solid on tape, but not dominant. They felt similarly about his skill set, that he was well-rounded but not special or elite. From a makeup standpoint, sources say Lomu has very good character. Some felt that he should go on the second day of the draft from his tape and skill set, but because he could start at a premium position, he will end up being a late first-round pick. Multiple sources felt that going in the top 20 was too high for Lomu.

In my latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft, I had Lomu going a bit too early as teams see him more as a late first-round pick for the 2026 NFL Draft.
