Prospect Summary:
Revel started out his collegiate career at Louisburg College. The school was foolish enough not to play football in 2020 because of COVID-19, and Revel barely played in 2021 in a shortened season. He transferred to East Carolina but didn’t break into the starting lineup until 2023. He had a tremendous season with 12 passes broken up, 55 tackles, one interception, and two blocked kicks. In 2024, Revel was off to an excellent start with two interceptions, two passes broken up, and eight tackles in three games before tearing his left ACL in practice to end his season.
In pass coverage, Revel would fit best as a bump-and-run cornerback. He is big enough to be a press-man corner who manipulates the route that receivers can run after his jam. Revel has God-given height, speed, and length to handle big receivers. Along with his size, Revel is very fast and has no issues running with speed receivers on verticals. Revel has quality ball skills to time breakups well. With his leaping ability and long frame, Revel is able to extend to break up passes and close gaps to prevent completions.
As a run defender, Revel should be a solid contributor. Revel is a physical and gritty defender who is a willing tackler in the ground game. Revel will be able to contribute to his team’s run defense.
Revel has some stiffness and raw elements in his technique and is coming off a serious injury. Hence, he is going to need some developmental time. In the 2025 NFL Draft, Revel could be a late first-round or second-round pick.
Prospect Comparison:
Tariq Woolen. In terms of style of play, Revel reminds me of shorter version of Woolen. Both are big, fast, long, gritty, and entered the NFL with some raw elements to be ironed out.
