Oregon
LeGarrette Blount, RB, Oregon
Height: 6-0. Weight: 238.
Projected 40 Time: 4.59.
Combine 40 Time: 4.62.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.53.
Benchx225: 19. Vertical: . Broad: .
Projected Round (2010): 4-5.
3/18/10: Only ran the 40 at his Pro Day. Improved on his time, but did weigh in three pounds lighter.
1/31/10: The character concerns are still there, but LeGarrette Blount was the most impressive running back at the Senior Bowl. He just bulldozed over helpless defenders like the 2008 version of Brandon Jacobs.
1/16/10: After that disgusting display at the end of the Boise State game, we assumed LeGarrette Blount’s collegiate career was over. Well, Blount played the last two games of the season, finishing with 82 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. The Bengals and Eagles might give him a second chance.
9/12/09: I guess you can say that LeGarrette Blount knocked himself out of draft consideration. Following a dismal performance where Blount actually lost five yards on eight carries, the Oregon running back punched a Boise State player and then had to be restrained from attacking the fans. The overweight Blount was already a Round 4-5 prospect to begin with, so he’s now a long shot to be drafted.
5/11/09: Suspended for missing workout sessions.
2/6/09: Was very effective with Jeremiah Johnson in the backfield. The monstrous LeGarrette Blount punished opposing defenses for 1,003 yards and 17 touchdowns, gaining 7.3 YPC in the process. Blount was not a factor in the passing game (two receptions).
7/25/08: A load at 230 pounds, LeGarrette Blount, a JUCO transfer, will receive most of the carries while Jeremiah Johnson recovers from a torn ACL.
T.J. Ward, S, Oregon
Height: 5-10. Weight: 211.
Projected 40 Time: 4.52.
Combine 40 Time: 4.57.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.46.
Benchx225: 19. Vertical: .
Projected Round (2010): 5-6.
3/18/10: T.J. Ward ran a great
1/14/10: Playing only eight games because of an ankle injury, T.J. Ward had 69 tackles and four pass deflections as a senior.
Florida State
Patrick Robinson, CB, Florida State – Scouting Report
Height: 5-11. Weight: 190.
Projected 40 Time: 4.43.
Combine 40 Time: 4.42.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.38.
Benchx225: 15. Vertical: 39.
Projected Round (2010): 2-3.
3/18/10: Patrick Robinson may have sealed his Round 2 status with a 4.38 40 at his Pro Day.
1/9/10: Patrick Robinson was voted to the All-ACC Second Team this year and notched 11 pass deflections this year, but was burnt in coverage one too many times.
3/7/09: Patrick Robinson had 26 tackles, two TFL and four passes broken up in 2008.
8/5/08: Despite starting just five games, Patrick Robinson picked off six passes and had six pass break-ups. Unfortunately, Robinson was one of the players involved in the infamous Florida State cheating scandal last year.
Dekoda Watson, OLB, Florida State
Height: 6-1. Weight: 226.
Projected 40 Time: 4.60.
Combine 40 Time: 4.53.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.40.
Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 40.
Projected Round (2010): 2-3.
3/2/10: Dekoda Watson made some money at the Combine. Despite weighing 240 pounds, Watson had the second-fastest 40 of all the linebackers, running it in 4.53 seconds. He also had 24 reps and 40 inches on the vertical jump.
1/8/10: An undersized weakside linebacker, but that hasn’t hurt other players of that ilk coming out of Florida State in the past (Derrick Brooks, Ernie Sims). Dekoda Watson, an All-ACC Second Team member, recorded 65 tackles, 13 TFL and 6.5 sacks.
Virginia Tech
Jason Worilds, Virginia Tech
Height: 6-1. Weight: 254.
Projected 40 Time: 4.70.
Combine 40 Time: 4.61.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.47.
Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 38.
Projected Round (2010): 2-3.
3/18/10: Unless Jason Worilds was running a 35-yard dash, his 4.47 at his Pro Day was very impressive. There’s a very good chance he’ll be a Day 2 pick.
3/2/10: Jason Worilds didn’t have a good 2009 campaign, but managed to strengthen his NFL Draft stock at the Combine. Worilds ran a 4.70, benched 24 reps and notched a 38-inch vertical.
1/8/10: Jason Worilds has declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. Worilds is coming off a poor season, but told the media that he expects to be drafted in the first round. This has a chance of happening until Worilds wakes up.
11/15/09: Disappointed in 2009; has just seven TFL and 3.5 sacks as a junior.
2/12/09: Despite playing with shoulder injuries, Jason Worilds garnered 18.5 TFL and eight sacks, earning himself a spot on the All-ACC Second Team.
Purdue
David Pender, CB, Purdue
Height: 6-0. Weight: 180.
Projected 40 Time: 4.51.
Combine 40 Time: 4.43.
Benchx225: 12. Vertical: 39.
Projected Round (2010): 5-6.
3/18/10: Dave Pender didn’t run the 40 at Purdue’s Pro Day (neither did Mike Neal), but Pender was able to up his bench presses from eight to 12.
1/9/10: David Pender was a member of the All-Big Ten Second Team thanks to 13 passes defended.
