Pro Day Dates: March 14, 2010

Clemson

Thomas Austin, G, Clemson
Height: 6-3. Weight: 306.
Projected 40 Time: 5.12.
Pro Day 40 Time: 5.36.
Benchx225: 33. Arm: .
Projected Round (2010): 5-6.

1/17/10: An All-ACC second-teamer, Thomas Austin can play both guard and center.

2/11/09: Enjoyed a great junior campaign and was named to the All-ACC Second Team.

7/28/08: Thomas Austin started 12 contests as a sophomore. He’s versatile and can play guard as well.

C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson Scouting Report
Height: 5-11. Weight: 196.
Projected 40 Time: 4.34.
Combine 40 Time: 4.27.
Benchx225: 18. Vertical: 36. Broad: 10-6.
Projected Round (2010): Top 20 Pick.

3/15/10: Though he didn’t run the 40, C.J. Spiller notched a very impressive 10-6 broad jump at his Pro Day.

1/16/10: C.J. Spiller rushed for 1,212 yards on a 5.6 average, and caught 36 passes for 503 more yards as a senior. He can also return punts. As long as performs well at the Combine, some team will take him in the top 20. His play-making ability is way too enticing.

1/3/09: If C.J. Spiller runs a mid-4.3 at the combine, he could be chosen in the first round to be utilized in a Felix Jones-type role. Spiller had 1,042 total yards and 10 touchdowns in 2008. He also scored on a kickoff return.

10/18/08: Despite Cullen Harper’s struggles, C.J. Spiller has been able to gain 6.5 yards per carry and score six total touchdowns.

Arizona

Earl Mitchell, DT, Arizona
Height: 6-1. Weight: 294.
Projected 40 Time: 4.88.
Combine 40 Time: 4.70.
Benchx225: 25. Vertical: 33.
Projected Round (2010): 5-6.

1/24/10: A 4-3 under tackle only, Earl Mitchell had 48 tackles, 12.5 TFL and 6.5 sacks in 2009. A converted H-back.

Devin Ross, CB, Arizona
Height: 5-10. Weight: 183.
Projected 40 Time: 4.40.
Combine 40 Time: 4.56.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.63.
Benchx225: 16. Vertical: 40.
Projected Round (2010): 7-FA.

3/14/10: I hate to put a lot of stock in 40 times, but Devin Ross’ 4.63 is going to kill him. No one likes short and slow corners.

1/9/10: Devin Ross broke up 12 passes and qualified as an All-Pac 10 honorable mention.

3/7/09: Devin Ross stepped up his game with Antoine Cason gone, earning himself a spot on the All-Pac 10 Second Team. Ross managed 50 tackles, 13 passes broken up and three picks.

8/5/08: Struggled a bit after looking very solid as a freshman. Devin Ross will be the team’s new No. 1 corner with Antoine Cason off to San Diego.

Brown

David Howard, DT, Brown
Height: 6-3. Weight: 293.
Projected 40 Time: 5.13.

Bobby Sewall, WR, Brown
Height: 6-1. Weight: 197.
Projected 40 Time: 4.50.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.41.
Vertical: 41. Broad: 10-1.
Projected Round (2010): 7-FA.

North Dakota State

Keith Buckman, OT, North Dakota State
Height: 6-5. Weight: 321.
Projected 40 Time: 5.24.
Pro Day 40 Time: 5.45.
Benchx225: 24. Arm: .
Projected Round (2010): 7-FA.

1/18/10: Was an All-MVC first-teamer, finishing his career with 33 starts (including all 11 in 2009).

2/9/09: Once again went through an entire season without missing a start. Unfortunately, Keith Buckman was just an honorable mention on the All-MVC Team.

7/27/08: A member of the All-Great West first team in 2007, it should be interesting to see how Keith Buckman fares in a more competitive Missouri Valley.

Pat Paschall, RB, North Dakota State
Height: 6-0. Weight: 211.
Projected 40 Time: 4.57.
Combine 40 Time: 4.69.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.57.
Benchx225: 15. Vertical: 38.5. Broad: 9-10.
Projected Round (2010): 7-FA.

New Hampshire

Scott Sicko, TE, New Hampshire
Height: 6-5. Weight: 251.
Projected 40 Time: 4.67.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.53.
Benchx225: 22. Vertical: 35. Arm: .
Projected Round (2010): 5-6.

3/14/10: Scott Sicko had a great Pro Day, running a 4.53 at 251 pounds (he was listed in the 240s during the year). He also had a 35-inch vertical.

1/21/10: A Division 1-AA All-America second-teamer, Scott Sicko had 57 catches for 725 yards and nine touchdowns.

2/8/09: Qualified for the Division 1-AA All-America First Team with 50 receptions, 660 yards and seven touchdowns.

7/27/08: One of the best tight ends in 1-AA, Scott Sicko had 51 receptions, 619 yards and six touchdowns in 2007. A solid 40 may get him into the first four rounds. Sicko’s level of competition is obviously an issue, so he also needs to maintain or improve upon his production.
