Oklahoma State LB Nick Martin Creating Some Buzz
As we approach the middle of the college football season, some NFL Draft prospects are starting to create buzz with team evaluators based on their play this season and going back to the tape from previous years. One of those players that is helping their draft stock is Oklahoma State linebacker Nick Martin. In speaking with team sources, Martin has created some fans in the scouting community.
Thus far in 2024, Martin has started the season strong with 39 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and two passes broken up. He had a huge 2023 season with 140 tackles, six sacks, one forced fumble, and two interceptions. Team sources say they see the 6-foot, 220-pound Martin as a Will linebacker in the NFL.
The evaluators who liked Martin thought he had day-two potential for the 2025 NFL Draft. Not all sources were high on him; one area scout for an AFC team said they thought Martin was more of a day-three pick and future backup at the NFL level. If Martin is able to match his 2023 numbers this season and perform well in the lead up to the draft, there could be more evaluators that grow high on him and see him as an early-round prospect.
