It felt like the league put the Eagles on notice yesterday with some much over due false start penalties.  I’m an Eagles fan but I’m getting older and randomly cranky about things.  I hate the pre-snap prairie-dog routine the Eagles have for their offensive line that they do and then go right into the play without setting properly.  I want it to stop.  I have no doubt they’ve been able to get some advantage out of this approach but I think they’re good enough that they’d be fine without.  It may even be better for them to simplify things.  

In the meantime their defense is still top notch.

Hurts is still a winner

And they still can get better if their offense can put it all together.  AJ Brown had a nice game.  Get Barkley going and suddenly they’ll have an offense that can control games again.  Being 8-3 making due in the meantime is impressive.

Annoyed they didn’t beat the Bengals by more for my own Fade Back Pick and for Walt’s sake but what can you expect when you spot the team 10 points and stall out in the red zone.  Winning ugly despite mistakes can be viewed from a certain angle as the hallmark of a good team.  When you don’t need to be your best and can still win. 

Reviewed the game log and had forgotten they lost the Raiders in week 1.  Yikes.  Maybe they were confused over when the switch from preseason to regular season was.

I view the Seahawks as a poor man’s Broncos who I view as a poor man’s Rams who the Seahawks lost to by 2 recently.  You can tell I only have so many buckets I like to put teams into and then the conflation begins. 

The Seahawks were the opponent of the first NFL game I went to with my Dad.  The Eagles lost.  It may have been a preseason game.  I thought it was nuts how loud the stadium got and that Eagles would ever lose to Seahawks.

I’m a Chargers fan because Herbert looks the way you want your franchise QB to look.  Though it seemed the he, and the team, had issues gutting out wins.  In the early part of the season it looked like that had been fixed but then Alt went down.  Still I like to think this team is evolving.

The Bears in week 1 played a great game but then collapsed against Minnesota.  But at the time I felt it meant good things for this team.  Now I don’t pay as close attention to the league as Walt, or probably half the readers of this site but I can see they’re 8-3 and rely on confirmation bias to let me rank them int he top half of the league.
