No. 1MW Louisville vs. No. 1W Gonzaga
Everyone says that there’s no dominant team this year, but I disagree. Louisville is far and away the top team in my rankings. The Cardinals destroyed teams all year – they have 13 conference victories of 15-plus – save for a three-game skid in mid-January. They’ve been invincible ever since, save for a fluky five-overtime loss to Notre Dame.
I like Gonzaga a lot, as mentioned in the West Bracket, but the Cardinals will be too much.

No. 3S Florida vs. No. 2E Miami
I relied on my rankings a lot in these picks. I have Florida two slots ahead of Miami, but I’m going to trust my gut. I just trust the Hurricanes more than the Gators. Maybe it’s because I’ve seen Florida lose so many close games. Maybe it’s because of Shane Larkin and the Hurricanes’ experience. Maybe it’s because of James Larranaga. I believe in this Miami squad.

OK, I believe in this Miami team unless it has to go up against Louisville. Like I said, this Cardinal team has been on an unbelievable run since its mid-January funk. It steamrolled through the Big East Tournament for the second year in a row. This time, there won’t a Kentucky buzzsaw standing in Louisville’s path.
