Team Profile:

The Magic didn’t make many changes this offseason to improve their roster. Instead, they focused on building around their young core of Banchero, and Moritz and Franz Wagner, and hoping that players like Fultz, Suggs, Anthony, Carter and even the oft-injured Isaac can make big leaps in their development to solidify their roles. Adding promising young prospects in Black and Howard will help round out Orlando’s roster and make the decision to move on from Anthony easier should he not take that step the team is looking for. A young roster full of more questions than answers doesn’t lead to a potential playoff berth, but the Magic could be a team that pushes the established contenders to their limits and cements a foundation for years to come.

Player Profile:

Jonathan Isaac is the most interesting player on their roster. He showed so much potential at Florida State, and in his third NBA season, he looked to be taking a huge step forward in his development, shooting really well from three while playing good defense and averaging nearly 2.5 blocks per game. Then, Isaac suffered two consecutive brutal knee injuries and played just 11 games last season toward the end of the year. If Isaac can stay healthy, he would be a great addition to a team that struggled shooting it from three last season and would space the floor as a big for guys like Banchero, Fultz and Franz Wagner to attack the basket.

Biggest Strength: Banchero and the Wagners

Biggest Weakness: Three-Point Shooting

Record: 30-52, 13th in the Eastern Conference
