Team Profile:
It appears that the Nets have found their franchise player in two-way star Mikal Bridges. The Nets also kept shooting forward Cam Johnson; this duo came in the Kevin Durant trade and form the team’s foundation. After them, the Brooklyn has a mix of young prospects like Cam Thomas, Noah Clowney, Jalen Wilson and Dariq White, as well strong veterans in Spencer Dinwiddie, Dennis Smith Jr., Lonnie Walker IV, Dorian Finney Smith and Royce O’Neale. Nic Claxton is also a rock-solid starting five. The Nets are basically the same team they were last season, but have the potential for improvement. They really need another star talent – Simmons? – if they want to be in the Boston/Milwaukee tier of the East, but they are a solid playoff team that can win a playoff series.
Player Profile:
Nic Claxton is a quietly huge piece for the Nets at the five. He is a double-double machine who is one of the elite rim-protectors in the NBA. His improvement was excellent, and I think he could have a big jump again this coming season.
