2024 NBA Offseason: Charlotte Hornets

Updated: 5/29/2024

Free Agents:

Miles Bridges, UFA

Amari Bailey, RFA

2023-24 Season Overview:

If the Hornets had LaMelo Ball healthy, they could have made a run to the 10th seed; he missed most of the season. No. 2 pick Brandon Miller had the big season Charlotte wanted, as he scored 19 points per game and looked like the elite scoring talent he was said to be. Mark Williams when healthy also played well, looking like a starter. It may be weird seeing Miles Bridges, because of off-court issues, playing like a star, but he was excellent too. The trades with the Thunder and the Mavericks for Vasilije Misic, Seth Curry, Tre Mann, Grant Williams and a first-round selection were brilliant as well. This season was about finding keepers, and Charlotte has quite a few.

Holes:

Starting Shooting Guard

Perimeter Scorer

Offseason Goals

A big aspect of the Hornets’ offseason is their lottery pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, which wlll give them another huge piece. They have the sixth pick and could find help at guard, but it would be wise to go at Donovan Clingan. Charlotte has Mark Williams, but Clingan has massive talents. The next big move would be re-signing Miles Bridges, who had another very big season. He’s an elite athlete and defender, plus a 20-plus-point scorer, who the Hornets seem to want to keep, but can they trust him with a big contract? Really, that’s it, they just need one or two more seasons to develop, but they can be a competitive team soon.

SG: Grant Williams, Seth Curry, Nick Smith, Amari Bailey

SF: Brandon Mille, Cody Martin, Leaky Black

PF: Miles Bridges, Aleksej Pokusevski
