Personally, I have no idea what the Cavaliers are trying, as they are one more legitimate stud from contention, but their choice was spending almost $70 million for a guy who, although he was recently brilliant, is only a mildly solid starter. I loved Cleveland adding rookie Emoni Bates, but the team still lacks that one more guy it needs.

I love Cleveland taking one of the riskier prospects in the draft in the second round. Bates was one of the elite scoring talents in thls draft, but his record isn’t spotless. I thought he would be undrafted and then quickly work his way into a rotation, but the Cavaliers can now just throw him in theirs. I like them betting on Bates.
