  1. Phoenix Suns: Miles Bridges, SF, Michigan State
    Actual Pick: Zhaire Smith

This was ridiculously difficult as a placement, because talent-wise, Bridges would likely have gone ninth and would be making $25 million a season if he weren’t arrested for domestic abuse. It seems like he will return to the league, and if true, this is a solid place to put him. He is a star talent.

  2. Milwaukee Bucks: Kevin Huerter, SG, Maryland
    Actual Pick: Donte DiVincenzo

The current Kings guard is one of the league’s elite shooters and a strong scorer with playmaking skill. Basically, he’s the prototype of a solid starting shooting guard, and he could fit on all 30 teams.

  3. San Antonio Spurs: De’Anthony Melton, USC
    Actual Pick: Lonnie Walker

Walker’s had a nice career, but Melton is an elite NBA role player. He is the rare three-and-D combo guard who is a huge piece on one of the league’s true contenders.

  4. Atlanta Hawks: Moritz Wagner, C, Michigan
    Actual Pick: Kevin Huerter

Wagner has been a solid NBA big man, and he would have made a huge difference on Atlanta’s bench. I think he and John Collins would have been excellent, but I think we would all pick Kevin Huerter.

  5. Minnesota Timberwolves: Devonte Graham, PG, Kansas
    Actual Pick: Josh Okogie

Graham had a fantastic 2-year run with Charlotte, at one point looking like an all-star. Then he got paid, then was traded and kind of disappeared, but he ended his 2022 season as a Spur and performed well.

  6. Utah Jazz: Shake Milton, G, SMU
    Actual Pick: Grayson Allen

Shake Milton has the MVP name in the NBA. As for a basketball player, he’s a strong sixth man. He’s an efficient shooter and scorer with playmaking skill. Milton could be a sixth man-award winner.

  7. Chicago Bulls: Grayson Allen, SG, Duke
    Actual Pick: Chandler Hutchinson

As a Bulls fan, I’m not a big fan of Allen, but he is a sharpshooter who has proven he can be a huge piece for a title contender. Shooting has been an issue for quite some time in Chicago, so I chose Allen.

  8. Indiana Pacers: Wendall Carter, C, Duke
    Actual Pick: Aaron Holiday

With Myles Turner, taking a center may not make sense to some, but the Duke big man is as solid as they come for a center.

  9. Portland Trail Blazers: Jarred Vanderbilt, F, Kentucky
    Actual Pick: Anfernee Simons

Vanderbilt is valuable as he’s a defensive forward who can shoot the ball, is a very talented rebounder, but is also a talented playmaker.

  10. Los Angeles Lakers: Lonnie Walker, SG, Miami
    Actual Pick: Moritz Wagner

Walker was one of the strongest role players and also secondary scorers for the Lakers pre-trades, but now he is not in the rotation. He is a talented scorer and shooter.

  11. Philadelphia 76ers: Donte Divincenzo, SG, Villanova
    Actual Pick: Landry Shamet

DiVincenzo is a fantastic role player who works hard when given minutes and adds energy to the secondary unit. He’s been an excellent shooter and playmaker off the bench for his squad.

  12. Boston Celtics: Jevon Carter, G, West Virginia
    Actual Pick: Robert Williams

Carter started a large portion of the season for the Bucks with Khris Middelton injured. As a player, Carter is a fantastic shooter who also has some decent playmaking talent.

  13. Golden State Warriors: Landry Shamet, SG, Wichita State
    Actual Pick: Jacob Evans

So, I’m a big fan of Shamet, who is playing a big role for Phoenix as he is who he is, an excellent shooter. He’s one of the elite specialists in the NBA.

  14. Brooklyn Nets: Troy Brown Jr., SF, Oregon
    Actual Pick: Dzanan Musa

Troy Brown Jr. was drafted just after the lottery, and analthough he has had a really solid season for the Lakers, his career has been somewhat disappointing. Brown has been a steady shooter and scorer for L.A.

  15. Atlanta Hawks: Aaron Holiday, G, UCLA
    Actual Pick: Omari Spellman

The youngest of the Holiday brothers has turned himself into a solid role guy and excellent shooter as well.
