In the passing driven NFL, teams are always on the look out for mismatch wide receivers. Some wideouts present a size advantage, while others are extremely fast to run past defenders. A wide receiver that has both attributes is even more special. Thus, there has been a buzz about South Carolina wide receiver Nyck Harbor. For years, scouts have been talking him up to me as a prospect with an elite skill set. Harbor has been a top track competitor in college, and he is 6-foot-5, 241-pounds. Harbor has stopped competing in track, and is focused on football. As scouts evaluate him for the 2026 NFL Draft, sources are torn on his pro potential. Some sources like him as an early-rounder while others think he is a great physical talent but not a football player.
“Guys are torn on him,” said an AFC national scout. “He’s very talented, but I didn’t like him. Just not a football player.”
In 2025, he has 17 receptions for 278 yards and two touchdowns thus far. Last year, Harbor had 26 catches for 376 yards and three scores. Some sources said that Harbor reminds them of Stephen Hill ocoming out of Georgia Tech.
For a positive comparison, Harbor could be similar to D.K. Metcalf. He was known as a size-speed freak but very raw coming out of Ole Miss. Metcalf turned out to be a great second-round pick by Seattle. If Harbor pans out, he could be similar to Metcalf. If Harbor is a bust, he could be similar to Hill. It only takes one team to fall in love, and Harbor has a skill set that is easy to be enamoured with. Team evaluators are torn on Harbor, but I still have going in the early rounds of my latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft.
