Third-Day Winners

New Orleans Saints:

  • Danny Stutsman, LB, Oklahoma
  • Quincy Riley, CB, Louisville
  • Devin Neal, RB, Kansas
  • Moliki Matavo, TE, UCLA
  • Fadil Diggs, DE, Syracuse

The Saints had one of the best steals of day three of the draft with Oklahoma linebacker Danny Stutsman. Stutsman is a pure football player with excellent instincts, intelligence, and toughness. He is a good run defender and could grow into being a starter for New Orleans.

New Orleans added four more solid depth players with starter upside in running back Devin Neal, tight end Moliki Matavao, and defensive end Fadil Diggs. The Saints have a long rebuild ahead of them on their roster, but their strong showing on day three of the draft should help provide more young talent with upside to develop.

Philadelphia Eagles:

  • Ty Robinson, DT, Nebraska
  • Mac McWilliams, CB, Central Florida
  • Smael Mondon Jr., LB, Georgia
  • Kyle McCord, QB, Syracuse

The Eagles had an excellent 2025 NFL Draft and they finished it off with a a number of solid depth picks on day three. They started it off with Nebraska defensive tackle Ty Robinson, and he should be a strong rotational tackle to lighten the run-stuffing load for Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter. Other teams had Robinson graded as a backup to starter, so that is a very nice value for Philadelphia in the fourth round.

After Robinson, the Eagles added some good depth players and potential core special teams players in UCF cornerback Mac McWilliams and Georgia linebacker Smael Mondon Jr. Sixth-rounder Kyle McCord could be a good third stringer that might grow into being the backup. Philadelphia did a nice job of adding depth on day three.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers:

  • David Walker, DE, Central Arkansas
  • Elijah Roberts, DE, SMU
  • Tez Johnson, WR, Oregon

The Buccaneers needed to add some more edge rush competition across from Yaya Diaby, and they were able to do it on day three of the 2025 NFL Draft. Central Arkansas’s David Walker and SMU’s Elijah Roberts were good value picks in the fourth and fifth rounds, respectively. Walker especially showed impressive pass-rush ability in college and at the Senior Bowl against the all-star offensive linemen.

In the seventh round, Tampa Bay added a nice backup slot receiver with upside in Oregon’s Tez Johnson. While he is small, Johnson is a shifty route-runner with a knack for getting open. This trio of day three picks could be nice backup and rotational contributors for Tampa Bay.

Houston Texans:

  • Woody Marks, RB, USC
  • Graham Mertz, QB, Florida

The Texans added some nice depth players on day three of the draft, with the headliner being USC running back Woody Marks. He is a dangerous receiver and showed improved strength as a runner in 2024 while performing well at the Senior Bowl. Marks could be a good rotational back to help keep Joe Mixon fresh, and it would not be a surprise to this analyst if Marks proves to be a fourth-round steal.

Aside from Marks, Florida quarterback Graham Mertz could be a nice No. 3 quarterback with the upside to become a capable backup. Seventh-round tight end Luke Lachey also could become a solid depth contributor. Houston did a nice job of getting quality additions on day three of the draft.
