2010 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Jon Scheyer
Position: Guard
Size: 6-5, 190
School: Duke, Senior
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: An NBA team knows what they are going to get in Jon Scheyer if they draft him. He will not be a superstar or a starter, but he is a threat from deep who should be able to come off the bench and knock down some outside shots. While he runs the point at Duke, he will likely transition back to a shooting guard role at the next level. His stellar senior season has increased the likelihood of a team taking him in the second round and hoping he can provide some scoring punch off the bench.
Player Comparison: Coby Karl. Karl has a job in the NBA because he can shoot the ball from deep, which is the only reason Jon Scheyer will find a home at the next level. Karl rarely sees the floor, but Scheyer has the ability to develop into a role similar to what J.J. Redick plays in Orlando.
