2010 NFL Draft Pro Day Results

Pro Day Dates: April 2, 2010

Northwestern

Mike Kafka, QB, Northwestern
Height: 6-3. Weight: 222.
Projected 40 Time: 4.92.
Combine 40 Time: 4.93.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.81.
Hand: 9 1/4.
Projected Round (2010): 6-7.

3/11/10: Looked great at Northwestern’s Pro Day.

1/15/10: Mike Kafka completed 64.8 percent of his passes on a 7.0 YPA, but his TD-INT ratio (16-12) wasn’t too impressive.

Sherrick McManis, CB, Northwestern
Height: 5-11. Weight: 192.
Projected 40 Time: 4.51.
Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
Benchx225: 15. Vertical: .
Projected Round (2010): 7-FA.

4/2/10: Only benched at his Pro Day; couldn’t run or jump because of a quad injury.

1/9/10: Sherrick McManis played through a few games with a quad injury, but had to miss three others. He was still an All-Big Ten second-teamer with five interceptions and seven passes broken up.

3/7/09: An All-Big Ten honorable mention, Sherrick McManis had 67 tackles, two picks and 11 passes broken up.

8/5/08: A tall corner with a great 40, Sherrick McManis will get noticed at the combine. McManis started for Northwestern as a sophomore and also did a good job as a return specialist.

Corey Wootton, DE/DT, Northwestern – Scouting Report
Height: 6-6. Weight: 272.
Projected 40 Time: 4.83.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.92.
Benchx225: 20. Vertical: 32.
Projected Round (2010): 2-3.

1/22/10: Corey Wootton had six TFL and four sacks as a senior. He’s more of a 3-4 end, but can also play 4-3 left end.

11/14/09: Not a consistent producer; disappears during stretches. Has just three TFL and two sacks in 10 games.

5/18/09: Should be able to play up front in a 3-4 defense at the next level.

2/12/09: If you love stats, Corey Wootton garnered 16 TFL and 10 sacks in 2008. Had minor knee surgery (is there such a thing?) in January.

East Carolina

Linval Joseph, NT, East Carolina
Height: 6-4. Weight: 319.
Projected 40 Time: 5.27.
Combine 40 Time: 5.09.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.93.
Benchx225: 39. Vertical: 31.5.
Projected Round (2009): 3-4.

3/2/10: I know 40 times don’t mean much for nose tackles, but a 5.09 at 328 pounds is damn impressive. Also, 39 reps shows that Joseph is in good shape.

1/24/10: Linval Joseph has declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. Joseph had 60 tackles, 13 TFL and three sacks as a junior.

Jay Ross, DT, East Carolina
Height: 6-3. Weight: 302.
Projected 40 Time: 5.14.
Combine 40 Time: 5.11.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.99.
Benchx225: 30. Vertical: .
Projected Round (2009): 5-6.

4/2/10: Has lost a ton of weight over the past few months. No longer a nose tackle prospect.

1/24/10: Finished the year with 4.5 TFL and 1.5 sacks. Your basic mid-round nose tackle.

11/28/09: Has 35 tackles, three TFL, 1.5 sacks and a 49-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Jay Ross didn’t look too bad running that one back on national TV.

2/14/09: Once again an All-Conference USA honorable mention, Jay Ross accumulated 48 tackles, 9.5 TFL and 4.5 sacks.

8/1/08: Jay Ross started 12 of East Carolina’s 13 games as a sophomore. He registered 38 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and two sacks, earning himself a spot on the All-Conference USA honorable mention list.

C.J. Wilson, DE/DT, East Carolina
Height: 6-3. Weight: 288.
Projected 40 Time: 4.78.
Combine 40 Time: 4.75.
Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
Benchx225: 32. Vertical: .
Projected Round (2010): 4-5.

1/22/10: C.J. Wilson finished his senior year on a hot streak, accumulating 10.5 TFL and 5.5 sacks.

11/14/09: Has not lived up to his huge junior campaign. Through nine games, has just 6.5 TFL and 2.5 sacks.

2/12/09: A monstrous defensive end who was voted to the All-Conference USA First Team. C.J. Wilson garnered 18.5 TFL and 10.5 sacks as a junior.

7/30/08: C.J. Wilson was a member of the All-Conference USA second team, thanks to his seven sacks in 2007. Looks to be a left end in the NFL.

Kansas State

Jeron Mastrud, TE, Kansas State
Height: 6-5. Weight: 253.
Projected 40 Time: 4.88.
Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
Benchx225: 13. Vertical: 32.5. Arm: 33 1/2.
Projected Round (2010): 7-FA.

4/2/10: Couldn’t run the 40 at his Pro Day because of foot surgery. Was able to do the vertical, broad jump and bench press though.

1/21/10: Had just 21 receptions for 233 yards as a senior.

2/8/09: Jeron Mastrud continues to put up solid numbers – 38 receptions, 435 yards, two touchdowns.

7/27/08: Jeron Mastrud put up solid numbers as a sophomore (30 catches, 316 yards), but his 40 is an abomination.
