South Carolina
Emanuel Cook, SS/FS, South Carolina
Height: 5-10. Weight: 201.
Projected 40 Time: 4.49.
Combine 40 Time: 4.64.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.57.
Benchx225: . Vertical: 32.
Projected Round (2009): 4-5.
1/14/09: Emanuel Cook was academically ineligible for the team’s winter practice game, and consequently couldn’t play in the TGIFriday’s Bowl.
12/14/08: An All-SEC second-teamer, Emanuel Cook finished his junior campaign with 87 tackles.
5/19/08: Emmanuel Cook’s height may hurt his draft stock, but his dynamic play makes up for it. Despite missing two contests in 2007, Cook recorded 92 tackles, eight tackles for loss and four sacks.
Jamon Meredith, OT, South Carolina
Height: 6-5. Weight: 304.
Projected 40 Time: 5.04.
Combine 40 Time: 5.03.
Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
Benchx225: 31. Arm: 34 1/2.
Projected Round (2009): 1-2.
11/1/08: Jason Meredith was having a solid season before getting dinged up with an ankle injury in a home loss to LSU.
5/24/08: An athletic lineman who started every game as a junior and four contests as a sophomore in the tough SEC.
Captain Munnerlyn, CB, South Carolina
Height: 5-9. Weight: 186.
Projected 40 Time: 4.35.
Combine 40 Time: 4.53.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.41.
Benchx225: . Vertical: 36.5.
Projected Round (2009): 3-4.
12/13/08: Captain Munnerlyn’s stock has slipped, as his play has regressed amid speculation that he’s not trying hard. I’m not sure if that’s true or not, but it’s pretty much a lock that Munnerlyn will declare early. He has 40 tackles, two TFL, two sacks and five passes broken up.
A great combine could boost Munnerlyn’s stock again.
5/17/08: A member of the All-SEC First Team, Captain Munnerlyn recorded 47 tackles and three interceptions as a mere sophomore. He has an excellent 40, and like Trevard Lindley, he could move himself into first-round consideration with another solid season.
Richmond
Lawrence Sidbury, DE/OLB, Richmond
Height: 6-3. Weight: 265.
Projected 40 Time: 4.75.
Combine 40 Time: 4.64.
Benchx225: 28. Vertical: 35.
Projected Round (2009): 2-3.
2/24/09: Even unofficially (the official times are obviously screwed up), Lawrence Sidbury ran one of the quickest 40s at the 2009 NFL Combine. He really helped himself on a day in which numerous defensive linemen disappointed.
1/9/09: An All-CAA First Team member, Lawrence Sidbury had 14.5 TFL and 6.5 sacks for national champion Richmond.
5/7/08: Lawrence Sidbury should be able to play in any scheme. He had eight tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in 13 starts last season.
